(9) This leads me to wonder: What if ALL Dems are registered as Independents? Then NO POLITICIAN can be sure which way weβll vote and maybe they will FINALLY fucking LISTEN to us? BTW . . .
(8) BUT, IF I am an Independent, they cannot be sure which way Iβll vote, and especially if Iβm on record as having switched back and forth from a middle position.
(7) . . . they are rubbing their hands together and clapping with glee, if not jumping up and down on their toes, at my unhappiness, because they know I have never and would never vote for them and their agendas.
(6) When I write to, or when I phone, my so-called βRepresentativesβ at the state and federal level (of which, in reality, I have none), I feel as though. . .
(5) Now, though, I wonder whether I should register again as an Independent! Despite my respected activistβs opinion on power in numbers (for Dems), I wonder whether we should ALL register as Independents. Hereβs why:
(4) After he lost, I could no longer stomach the horrendous βRepublicanβ emails and texts (which Iβm STILL assaulted with, no matter how many times I type βstopβ) and I registered again as a Democrat.
(3) Several years ago, I took an anti-nausea pill and registered as a Republican because I wanted to vote for Jon Huntsman for governor in the Utah primary.
(2) A seasoned activist whom I respected and admired convinced me not to pretend to sit on the fence while I always, ALWAYS, voted Democrat, so in the 21st century, while living in very red Utah, I registered as a Democrat.
(1) When I was old enough to vote, in the 20th century, I registered as an Independent (I voted for Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro, while my living parent voted for Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush).
The news helicopter came to photograph the crowd after 2:00, when it had started thinning, and the published estimate seems low by thousands. I think there were at least 10K people there. Did it look like that many from the Capitol steps?
This is Utah in case anyoneβs wondering how pissed off people are. I have never seen anything like this.
I just subscribed to 5 Calls Newsletter!

FINALLY figured out how to download the 5 Calls app to my Android and am ready to call my UNrepresentatives (who clap with glee at my unhappiness).

These beauties must be saved (along with everything else that must be saved). If you can't experience them in person, you can begin to experience them here.

Currently, all of my ready-to-submit nonfiction is either fewer than 1,000 words or more than the max, 10K, of this competition. Yours? This closed April 2.

What else is new.
Itβs just bad reporting to take Trumpβs use of βpauseβ at face value when endless delays are one of his fundamental strategies & authoritarian regimes across history & the world so often introduce new oppression with these terms.

Good luck with that.
