Above and below the box is written: PEM trigger severe ME/CFS. One of the words is assigned to each of the other four boxes at the edge of the graphic: Stimuli, Cognitive, Emotional, Physical. The triggers are named on white labels assigned to the fields and supplemented by a small illustration. Stimuli: light, background noise, presence of a person, smells, being gently moved Stimuli/physical: vibrations in the wheelchair Physical: Toilet, showering, washing hair, sitting, standing, walking, turning around, eating, drinking Physical/emotional: being frightened, stress/worry Emotional: strong emotions, loneliness, touching news (good and bad), social conflicts, dreams, memories Emotional/cognitive: reading a letter from the authorities, preparing for an appointment Cognitive: thinking, communication, media Cognitive/stimuli: listening to an audiobook, music, conversations

A little overview of PEM triggers people with severe ME/CFS shared with me on instagram. As this includes things that are necessary or cannot be influenced, PEM is often unavoidable.
