Social media basically leavens whatever we are thinking or feeling. A small idea or emotion can become all-consuming if you let the algorithms run with it.
I don't trust anyone who isn't a bit cynical about their own words.
Watched Hamnet last night...Oh boy, I think I cried through half that movie. And that young boy (Jacobi Jupe), what an amazing actor. Best acting performance I've seen all year.
The concept of feeling safe or right within a large community bubble is very real. Yes, I believe many troubling realities are exaggerated or fostered by large church expressions. Just arguing for sensitivity in how we address people drawn to those environments.
I love that the word problematic is problematic, which is problematic.

I don't think it's constructive to critique mega-churches as only growing because superficial people are attracted to the expression. I've never been attracted to mega, but I think we would do well not to assume the worst about why people are attracted to certain communities & community expressions.
