(to be clear I'm not done with the area or even reached the boss. I expect it'll get worse. I've only opened the first gate so far, and really the only difficult part of that was Forlorn invading for like the 6th time and having to 1v1 them in the cave clearing.

Honestly when I saw the giant cloud of poison fog I expected a really bad time in Harvest Valley, but it really wasn't as bad as I expected.

I do have to ask though, is Forlorn part of a quest or something? Hes invaded like 6 times, but his behavior isnt like player invaders.

The dukes dear Freja is a lot better with a torch to keep the baby piders at bay.

But yeah definitely don't like giant spiders. So far the only giant spider boss I actually enjoyed was specifically the regular variant of Rakna Kadaki in MH Rise.
As a boss Freja was fine, I just don't like spiders

I finished my replay of God of War Ragnarok, and I still really enjoy the story. I do really question how the adaptation is gonna approach its narrative though lol

Oh yeah I'm still mildly annoyed that we learn basically nothing about Paul's Jihad. I don't really mind details about campaigns or anything like that, but I was hoping to at least learn about whatever event actually sparked the thing, since the ending from Dune was so different from the Movies.

My arachnophobic ass does NOT like this boss or this area lmao. I have fought Dukes Dear Freja in Nightreign a few times, but DS2 is a lot harder than Nightreign lol

I'm enjoying it so far, but idk how i feel about some of the plot points. Like the whole Baron thing feels kinda cheap.

I finished Dune Messiah last night. I actually really enjoyed it. It does start really slow, and there's basically zero action, but I enjoyed how much it focused in on the conspiracy and all the different povs. I also really like how it ended.

I'm now a few chapters into Children of Dune.

Is Heide's Tower supposed to be Anor Londo? I was looping back to pick up an item I missed, and realized this building looks a lot like the keep you fight Orstein and Smough in.

It's main weakness is it's attacks kinda suck in the poise damage department, so even like the regular undead guys can punch through your attacks if you time em wrong. It's also not great in tight spaces, so I've still got my starting scimitar too for those kinds of fights.

It's one of my favorites in Elden Ring, and I *always* pick it up as one of my first priorities. I actually thought the weapon class was new to ER, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find it in DS2 lol. It's a bit slower than in ER, but still fun!

Aggreed lol. But once I knew to expect them they were easy to pick off with the twinblade. It was my first time actually fighting the big dog though since I died before he even hopped down the first time.

More or less lol. I died immediately when I first got to the boss room because i got jumped by all 4 dogs not noticing the big one, and I had no healing on hand. The second attempt I breezed through, so honestly if I had a heal I probably would've first tried it.

(to be clear that first statement is a joke. I am having a blast with the game though lol)

I have a question? What actually started Paul's Jihad? I know in the movie they show him declare it at the end of part 2, but the book itself just ends with that conversation between Channi and Jessica?
