Good Morning! On this day, (Thursday) March 5 in 1938, Lynn Margulis was born. She was an American evolutionary theorist, biologist, science author, educator, and science popularizer, and was the primary modern proponent for the significance of symbiosis in evolution. #Herstory #WomeninSTEM πŸ§ͺ

reading this, both the accounting of the harassment and the institution’s response, reminds me of Kate Manneβ€˜s point of this current backlash: "remove women as sources of competition and judgement"

A beautiful night of singing, guitar, & reminiscences from @lylelovett.bsky.social & John Hiatt ended with just a hint of resistance: Woody Guthrie’s β€œThis Land is Your Land.” Perfect.
(Note to Bluesky leaders: I know you guys are young, but ffs, give Mr. Lovett a blue check!)

The March date is already listed as Full!

I did register for the April date. You have a chance to enter questions. I don't know if there will be another opportunity to do this.

Thanks, @maxkozlov.bsky.social .

I will go further. This deranged activist was also known for criticizing NIH Director Francis Collins during the Obama administration when he felt that Collins was making decisions not aligned with the best interests of the NIH.

They look like a photoshop project or a hallucinogenic nightmare or like someone though squirrels were easter eggs, but in fact, these squirrels (one shown close up, and one with a full body, both striped in impossibly bright blue, orange and red, with only the tiniest bits of normal-brown-squirrel fur) ARE REAL.

I know the world is a nightmare right now, but I just discovered that India has squirrels that look like this, and I need you to know it too.

Advice from Judith Kimble: At the top of every page, in the header, put WHO CARES? Every page should clearly spell this out.
