Oh!
How tall are these guys (e.g. to the top of their headgear)?

The wonderful thing about this table is that it looks real. So many games that you see pictures of scream "this is a wargame table". No criticism, I've played games on these myself, but they don't inspire!
The time that must have gone into this setup though π¬
Beakie space marine with his red power glove very much in the foreground.
I also slightly upped my game on the gloves, thanks to a couple more Vallejo paints (Evil Red, Scarlet Red) to improve the darker shades.
Three RTB01 "beakie" space marines in the blue and red of the Crimson Fists chapter. Two of them have melee attachments on their bolters.
Almost ready (standard disclaimer about insignia, bases and helmet stripes).
I'll get these varnished and then they're usable on the table.
The middle guy is a paint-over, not painted from fresh. You can't tell at tabletop distances but it was a lot less pleasant to work with.

These are amazing! I kind of wish that the eldar was wearing their helmet rather than holding it, but that's just me.

Clever π
Looks like they might work as scatter in 28mm...
Love the chips on this π
Yeah, the plastic armed orks from that era are about the only minis that I don't have an attachment to. So much so that I'm going to pair my RTB01 marines with modern orks... π―
How frustrating! π
Looks great! Particularly like what you've done with the face on the man mangler π
A great example of the genre! Where's that one from?
Lovely work π
Looks great!
But it's convinced me that I need to redo the crimson on my Crimson Fists π«€
Ooh, a proper nostalgia unit that you have there π
These look fantastic!
I don't need any more beastmen (sorry, beastkin π) but...
Down in Devon. Started with the war memorial and to visit some of the businessβ affected by the damage to the coastal road. For anyone who knows this from the history or with a heart please sign and share

Twenty four 28mm miniatures from various genres: chaos beastmen and light cavalry, a werewolf, a handful of vikings, three space dwarfs and ten blue space marines
Because mid-Feb is a good time to do a "last year" recap... π§
My target was 48 minis for the year, so that's a pretty big miss, but at least I got paint on a few.
Emphasises how much I'm motivated by upcoming games: 3rd edition chaos, then BOYL warbands, then One Page Rules at my local club.
My 3rd Ed chaos force needs those Dwerg! π€ π€
Looks like a fleece battle mat with fine grit for the roads?
And an impressive collection of buildings!
Great looking table π
Will be interesting to see where you end up with your bases.
I've gone for a brown cracked earth look which, squinting, works for generic planet or urban wasteland, but doesn't work for true urban/ underhive/ spaceship.
Looking great so far!
How did you make the white planks / beams?
Might well have been that. I have 5 frames plus the missile launcher frame, so that would be the single squad. I'm as sure as I can be that I've never owned a box for them though...
The time frame would be right for your theory, as the 2nd edition marines would have been coming out.
Oh, maybe that was it! Would have been from the Oxford Street store after I moved to London as a student. But I have no memory of how I got them...
I'm pretty sure that these didn't come in a box, I'd very likely still have it if they had π
Two frames of cream coloured "beakie" space marines
Next up.
I'm not sure how I acquired these, as my set of old second-hand beakies are dark blue plastic, and I only have a handful of these cream frames. I've had them since the late 1980s though, so maybe mail order sold individual frames?
Either that or I must have split a set with a mate.
Brilliant mini looking great so far π
Great idea π
