I'm sorry but "we went too far in fighting racism" is not a take I consider serious from absolutely anyone who considers themselves on the left so long as mass incarceration, the eviction crisis, the school to prison pipeline, educational segregation, lead water pipes, and the economic draft exist.

the fascists made these tools. instead of using them, say what you mean, what is happening in actuality. decry them as warmongers, as racists, who will burn down the world for a single cent. point to their worship of capital, their freedom from consequence. don't harm your community by association.

when you call them fat and ugly, i think of myself and all those who are fat, outside society's beauty norms, whose worst crime is existing in a way that isn't marketable.

when you call them felons, i think of those who have had their rights stripped because of conviction by an unjust police state.

when you call them brain damaged, i think of my kind, activist friends who have sustained brain damage.

when you call them a "cabal", i think of my jewish friends who have been demonized again and again, who have had their faith and culture taken and painted as a controlling force.
