I know I’m an anti-car radical, but as I walked to a medical appointment through the tail end of the Seahawks parade today, it’s amazing how as a walker, a huge increase in pedestrian traffic is neutral to quite nice. There’s no scenario where drivers want more cars.

If you look around, there is so much work that needs to be done. Design work, communications work, strategy and planning work, software development work, policy work, maintenance work. There are so many misallocated resources.

The question is "who is going to pay for it"? Not "will work exist"?

Considering how expensive it is to make videos, it’s wild that they’re basically treated the same way. But that’s also my library background talking, where you always want to get use out of the back catalog.

Oh, recordings weren’t allowed on radio networks in the US until after WW2, so shows were generally broadcast live and never used again. There was a little bit of leeway with syndication to local stations, but to modern eyes, it seems crazy to air it once and throw it away.

It reminds me of how radio was all done live for the first twenty-ish years of its existence.
