It took 800 miles of driving over two days, but we finally found California condors in Vermilion Cliffs National Monument this afternoon. They were about five miles off, soaring high above the cliffs, so I don't have photographs beyond proof-of-sighting, but I'm still high on the sighting.

We can write essays on artists doing this kinda thing now and how they did it for their own benefit when they deemed that it was no longer necessary to capitalize/profit off of minorities they secretly harbored such distain for. Especially when they can run back to the bigots for shelter

I'd say they were most likely always that way to begin with but it's very telling to me still and that's why I do remain skeptical of just accepting anybody as a cool artist friend.

I'm not saying this will happen. Republicans will flip some seats, turnout in special elections is very different from general elections, etc etc etc.

I'm just saying that this is what it would *theoretically* look like if the midterms *were to* mirror VA/NJ'25 + Specials 25/26 so far.

Now, NATIONALLY there's 7,386 state legislative seats + 535 U.S. House/Senate seats, or 7,921 total.

Republicans currently hold 4,281 of those (54.0%)

Perhaps ~6,000 will be on the ballot this year, of which Republicans hold ~3,240.

If Democrats were to flip 23.5% of them that'd be ~760 seats. 👀
