Going on Pinterest to find inspiration and references for art and getting caught in another day-long loop of finding more cool images and opening more tabs to save more images only to find even more cool images, etc. cut off by my power randomly going out so that's that, I guess.
And if I need to be an artist for that then I have sooooo far to go to accomplish anything and I fear getting a job too will drain all my energy and focus. Like I'm working with someone in therapy but I feel like I need an additional therapist just to help with my career and life path, man.
I think what I want more than anything is that telling stories through animation bit, maybe through other ways, too, but while I enjoy art, it's the story-telling that I'm most interested in.
There's so much I wish I could do but it's all so much and I don't know where to start; every path feels like the wrong one for some reason or another either because it feels impractical or it's not truly my calling, etc. etc.
How am I going to accomplish all of this when I have almost literally nothing to my name and I don't even have the energy to find a job for a meager steady income right now.
Depression has been wreaking havoc on my life for years and I've found that ... all of these things sound like totally different lives. I've been unemployed for nearly 3 years now and just fighting to keep my head above water.
But then I always come back to this recurring conflict in my life with the idea of having to survive in our capitalist dystopia and how am I going to support myself and do art, and work for the good of the broader political and ecological landscape.
Then there's my dream of building a beautiful like mansion home, but split into apartment-like suites where a bunch of families (friends, of course) all share this rich building and the land around it to build gardens, maybe a playground, with large rooms to congregate for meals, games, etc.
Or I'd focus on rewilding and foraging. Directly help my community to live more fulfilling and sustainable lives by showing them how and building stuff that benefits people around me as much as myself.
Or I’d go in a completely different direction and study ecology and environmental science to figure out how to help with our current crisis. Or maybe go small and just get a community garden going and try to supply myself and my community with healthy food through permaculture practices
I keep changing my mind about what I want to do with my life. I want so much. From telling stories through animation, designing stationery, supporting other artists either through a business or maybe some type of nonprofit, like The Artist's Way style, help regular people be more creative
Getting back to building my habit of spending a few minutes in the back yard, clearing overgrowth and stuff like that in prep for gardening. It's hard trying to keep myself to small habits when I'm trying to get big change but my brain is too easily discouraged so tiny habits it is...
Fighting with myself on doing morning chores. I'm just so tired, still and don't have a lot of motivation right now. Dangling a can of soda in front of myself as reward for finishing, though I think a Strawberries and Cream Dr.Pepper would be more motivating than a plain one, but that's what we got
Joined Bluesky a while ago and haven't really been active, thinking of changing that now. I've been on a years-long road of recovering my mental health, and am kind of also rebuilding my personal identity from the ground up and feel like I'm getting to a point where doing it in public could be good.
