whenever you feel like being annoying means you’re undeserving of love, remember that that’s like cats’ whole schtick
that’s their whole deal
and they are beloved
you shouldn’t be put in forever jail for sometimes being a little annoying and anyone doing that isn’t worth your time
Screenshot saying: this video would have changed my life if I watched it when it came out
The Leftist Cooks: almost changing people's lives.
While LGBT people do go stealth, my experience was overt public ridicule whenever the subject got raised. And the legal protections for trans people are worse than in the UK. Pair that with the idea that you're moving to support a trans gaijin teenager...?
I can't think of a worse plan.
My most controversial opinion on Ireland is that your post service is truthfully not that good. Yes, it's cool that it once got a letter to "Tall Mary of Sligo," but I'd be more impressed if it didn't take 3 days to send a standard letter to a place only 30 minutes away.
If I have closeted trans people following me (and I know I do) please do not let this line of thinking stop you from transitioning and living as yourself. Your life does not end if you don't transition at 18, or 20, or 30, or 50. I promise.
This rhetoric is for policy, not for individuals.
Like, this lady mentioned Japan as one of her suggestions and personally, I found Japan deeply shockingly homophobic. In such a gender segregated culture, I really don't see how one could comfortably live as a trans person.
Not trying to dogpile, but as someone who has immigrated a lot, there are very few places I can think of that are currently safe and trans accepting. Travelling is one thing, settling in a community is different.
Respectfully, a lot of these places are absolutely dangerous for trans people. Japan is a horrendous place to be queer at all, I cannot imagine the social ostracism a trans person would face.
The last thing I want to do is derail from your righteous fight against the NHS under Labour, but I do wonder about the messaging that "most people" will be unable to pass for their lifetime unless they start their transition as teens.
I agree with everything Jolyon is fighting for but I don't think we can or should quantify some manner of passing potential for a given cohort. The primary reason that transition is time sensitive and always time sensitive is the distress experienced by those stuck in their assigned gender imo.
Tell Neilly to say it to my face!
I would be obsessed.
Real takes: Agencies would not have been defunded under Harris. ICE would be less chaotic.
Fake take: Harris, when told Israel was going to attack Iran and Iran would retaliate against US bases, would have told Israel that they would face US sanctions if they caused more chaos in the region.
We now know this attack happened because Israel had already decided to attack Iran and Israel asked us to join them....
I mean, the answer is probably yes. Kamala had no backbone when it came to Israel.
Guys, I'd also rather Kamala be in charge, but be so for real.
Just kidding, it's actually a very simple explanation.
I still think it's stupid, but I can at least understand a white director being like "we can't make Heathcliff the only person of colour in the film, he's a bad guy!" but I'll never ever understand being like "let's make Heathcliff into a romantic lead AND ALSO make him a white guy."
Sister Minnie and the other Ramadan cats are really all that's holding me together right now.
Anyone who sees themselves as "an empath" probably needs compassionate trauma-informed therapy to help them form a more coherent sense of self. Making it into a superpower, first with the term empath, now with "pattern recognition from neurodivergence" does not help someone seek the help they need
I've never met a self-described "empath" who wasn't completely exhausting with their self-absorption. Having poor emotional self-differentiation is not the same as being good at reading people.
(No, don't blame mirror neurons either, that's not how they work).
I had no idea this was a claim. Are people with ADHD the new empaths? Because I've got ADHD and I'll tell you, asking my wife "it seems like you're mad at me?" 15x in a row until she snaps and I say "I knew it!" is probably not the evidence I think it is that I'm good at reading people's emotions.
(I've got criticisms of their refugee program, and their gov in general, but come the fuck on with this farce)
You know that Lebanon has taken in more refugees than almost any other place in the world? They also have no nuclear weapons, and have advocated for nuclear disarmament.
Clearly they're a threat and we should proactively bomb them!
Ok but for real @neillyleftistcook.bsky.social doesn't 😭
Neilly it was your THIRD MUPPETS TANGENT of the video 😭
Now everyone must be a classically trained soprano like @hoots.bsky.social !?
Champagne socialism at it's finest 😭
I am a hack 😭😭
Comment on the video "We can abolish borders" with the comment: "why are you reading a script?"
I'm afraid I've been caught 😔
I do, in fact, heavily research and then write my videos before putting them on the internet.
Apology video incoming.
When my doctor refused to do blood tests he justified it by saying private gender services don't do due diligence, followed by a pretty Incoherent monologue about transition risks like "increased risk of cancer" which is not true. Then, having not done due diligence, he sent me off. Absolute toss.
