When they see you replied, they get a sudden rush of excitement because then they have a chance to respond. Deny them that dopamine hit. Ghost them. If it's close family and friends, DM or text them away from the public/semi-public content. They're more likely to engage civilly and actively listen.
Don't argue on social media anymore. Post your thoughts and walk away. When you argue and debate on social media it makes these people feel important because the platform is designed to increase dopamine levels regardless of the content.
Good luck out there and keep the faith. And to all those who braved the cold and violence to stand for others - thank you for your service.
It was real when Renee Good was murdered in Minnesota. It's as real now as it was then. This shit is fucked up and the people who are doing it need to be stopped. It's a moral imperative that we speak out against this and do what we can in our own worlds to resist it.
It was real the last time they put kids in cages. It was real when we watched the murder of George Floyd as he died in agony on camera. It was real when white nationalists matched chanting "Jews will not replace us." It was real when Heather Heyer was murdered in Charlottesville.
Don't let people gaslight you. Don't let them make you second guess what you're seeing right now. Don't do it to yourself. You're seeing what you are seeing and it is real. It's been real since 2016.
in case you're curious about how angry Minnesota is about ICE, it was -20 today
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
"We're not a democracy, we're a Republic."
Shut uuuuuuuuup. God that's so annoying and pedantic. We have democratic processes, like voting. So just shut tf up.
I wrote a short piece for The Chamberlain Network on the use of military facilities for migrant deportations.
This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.
Building staff couldnβt figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.
These billionaires are singlehandedly destroying people's lives across the country and then have the gall to mock them for it.
when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness.β

Yeah but what if you're on leave, especially extended leave like parental?

Unemployment is run by the states, so a federal employee pays into the state taxes, income and etc., in where they reside. So a laid off fed will file for unemployment in their home state.
I was electrocuted, beaten, stabbed in the leg and starved after being captured while defending my home and family in Mariupol.
We held back Putinβs invasion for several weeks while Russia slaughtered over 25,000 predominantly Russian speaking Ukrainians including women and children.
"A CDC employee who was charged with preventing the introduction of zoonotic diseases (those that jump from animals to humans), had assumed they'd be safe from layoffs because their work involved national security and border control. They'd recently received a CDC award of excellence for their work"
Everything I'll post should be interpreted as my own individual viewpoint and a matter of public concern. I will exercise my first amendment rights to the fullest extent allowed by my position.
I took a job with the Federal government to support our growing family while maintaining my values of service. I will not go into details about my position or agency because I need to be careful about what I post on social media. That being said, I will also not be silent.
Wow I did not expect my post about the federal layoffs to take off like it has. Thanks to everyone who reposted it. And hello to everyone who started following. Let me introduce myself. I'm a disabled veteran and father of three. I used to be an adjunct English Professor until we had more kids.
A government employee went mega-viral after she SPOKE OUT against Musk's firing on HIS OWN APP.
Now she's coming on my channel to share her story.
Interview premieres at 7:00pm on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTQx...
Well yeah, that goes without saying.
There's definitely an argument to be made for restructuring the government workforce but it shouldn't be so damaging. Comparing the civil service to public sector misses the fact that businesses have a profit motive, government does and should not.
Just to clarify, I am.not affected by these layoffs. My thread contains quotes from the Reddit thread I shared.
No, I have not been laid off as of today. This just came to my attention and needed to share what is happening to federal employees.
