And when I say weird shitty things, some of it was really weird. Like "your pets won't go to heaven when they die because they have no soul" or "every friend you make is a blessing from God!" All great things to tell a child with Selective Mutism and no friends!
Growing up in it and being told I had to be Catholic but not being told why except "because God." And family doubling down on taking me to church when I started rejecting it. Also the list of weird shitty things said to me as a kid, again "because God"
