Like, yeah, Diamond is… problematic. But if it gets Americans to think about the interconnected mess of global society it’s ultimately a positive. Put it in the same class as The Signal and the Noise. Problematic, but an overall positive IMO.
I think GGS is a great wake up book! I used to assign it in college. You’re absolutely right there is much more to the story, but it smacks a lot of people into thinking more globally, which is wonderful and a good starting point.
I’m fairly sure that if there is one person who wishes they would have found it more quickly it is Joe Biden.
Also Trump’s medical exam is chock full of lies and the “liberal media” doesn’t make Republicans answer for it. Hell, they don’t even ask anymore.
Now that I see his former hairstyle it becomes clear he deserves his current hairstyle.
Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

It’s so tiring. Especially with the Mill in Chillicothe closing now. We were doing well. Downtown was thriving. We were lucky to be insulated for so long. Now we’re all pretty scared about what comes next.
The paper factory in my small town is closing, and 2000+ jobs are gone. But I’m low key happy my kids won’t be breathing who the fuck knows growing up.
