Today marks the beginning of Autism Acceptance Month! This is a time to promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of autistic individuals, shifting from a focus on just awareness to embracing the autistic community 💚
Great advice on helping someone who is grieving.

Excuse me while I sob hysterically. My 15yo has been working since July on her year-long school project, and she chose to hand-paint, write, and print a cookbook of family recipes. It's so beautiful. Welcome to the author club, kiddo 💗
No need to debunk this.
The word ‘bunk’ is a shortened form of ‘bunkum,’ which came from Buncombe County, North Carolina (where Asheville is located).
In 1820, the congressman from Buncombe County gave an intentionally boring and long-winded speech to Congress...
One of the BEST places for anyone at any age: your public library!
Growing up, I spent hours upon hours at the library.
Go and get your library card! Support your local public library! 📚♥️

Renewed my library card today and checked out two recent bestsellers! Don’t forget your library, folks! It’s a great resource.
I have always loved public libraries, but having young children has exponentially increased my gratitude and sense of indebtedness to them. Our local library is such a huge part of our lives. The books, the programming, the very intentionally curated kids’ section. It’s all such a gift.
Matt Damon: “A teacher wants to teach.”

I recommend no fewer than 4 copies of any beloved book. A paperback for traveling and lending to friends, an eBook for reading with greasy snack fingers, an audio book so you know how the characters' names are actually pronounced, and a pristine hardcover to be buried with you like a pharaoh
This was a fun interview. We covered everything , including bluesky !
The whole point of buying the books you are giving to people for Christmas in a bookshop and not online on Amazon is not only to support the bookshop but to accidentally find a number of books you don’t have time for yet feel obliged to buy and take home with you anyway because they are wonderful.
I have 214.6K followers, and I figure at least some of them are looking to gift books this holiday season, so:
HEY AUTHORS OF BLUESKY: In the comments to this post, tell us (briefly!) about your most recent book, and put in a link to where people can learn more and/or buy the book in question.
Go!
I have about 1/3 of the followers here that I have on the other place, but the engagement here is a lot more fun & interesting, & it feels happy. I really hope this lasts. We need a public marketplace of ideas!
