Brilliant! Well done.
Brilliant! Well done.
That's very clever.
From May, I should be able to reduce my phone bill by ยฃ10 a month. It all adds up and over the course of a year, that's a drop leaf table with storage on 2 wheels from IKEA so it's not nothing.
Working on an IKEA hack for my kitchen because the wall that adjoins the flat next door has damp and it's not from my kitchen (no water pipes on that side). Getting another property owner to take responsibility is impossible here. So I get to work out a little change in the layout.
TIL there are only 3 countries who haven't adopted the metric system. Liberia, Myanmar and you probably know the other one.
My good/bad deed for the day was putting off some prospective tenants for the upstairs flat. I told them everything that's wrong with it, including how awful the landlord is. I won't be able to warn everyone but nothing I said was a lie.
Oh no that's a lot to deal with in a short space of time. I'm sorry you have had such a hard time. I hope this weekend will be calm for you.
I'm sorry about your bad news. Hope you're okay. I saw the pics before I saw who posted them but I should have known. It's Stylish, it's brilliant and it's fun.
The previous property management company are refusing to pass on any records or funds or our accounts, despite being fired in January. So we have 0 money to do things and the new management have no legal documents to use to request service charges be paid. A very big pickle.
Every tenant in the flat above ends up with a cough. The owner won't fix the damp and draughty rooms and there's mould in the bathroom. Last year 3 lots of tenants lived in the flat, one after another. The current ones plan to leave in April.
On Saturdays the next door smoking man usually goes out to work. Today he's home, coughing and smoking outside. I was hoping to leave my windows open most of the day but I don't want his toxic fumes in my home. I won't type what I muttered when I closed a window because it was a nasty curse.
Every so often when I reject cookies, I'm reminded of the poor woman who complained online about constantly being asked to accept cookies, even though she always did. I explained what they were but I expect a lot of people find it easier to accept them and some sites dgaf about privacy.
I got a free pair of clip style earbuds when I got a new phone and I hadn't tried them till today because they look weird. I keep forgetting I'm wearing them. The sound is good and calls are clear for me and the hard of hearing person I just had 2 calls with.
Thanks for the link for the audiobook option.
When the NHS works well, it's brilliant, but when something goes wrong it is very frustrating. I've had my referral to a consultant rejected twice now. If a GP thinks you need to see a consultant, you shouldn't be knocked back. My surgery seems to be trying to help so I haven't lost hope yet.
I'm starting to see AI clips replacing reenactment videos in history series. I don't like reenactment videos with humans and the AI versions are so odd. I prefer to see paintings and use my imagination. And why doesn't the AI version look like the person in the historic paintings?
The owner of the flat lives in a massive house up north and hates spending money on her rental flat. She refuses to give me her contact details but I have her address because the current tenants showed me her address on their lease agreement. So I can chase her for damages.
I'll have to contact the council again because the owner of the upstairs flat refuses to hire a competent plumber to fix the leak from the shower in her flat. I had to have my ceiling replaced because of a previous leak and this current one has been going on for over a year now.
Having a quiet afternoon and watching WildEarth livestream on YouTube. Seeing lions relaxing in the wild at Masai Mara in Kenya is really relaxing. They show animals from different game parks, mostly in South Africa, so it's a treat to see animals in other countries, not just SA.
I would like to move to Spain please.
The London Shard, a huge glass building in a pyramid shape. I took this looking up at the top of it from the bus station at London Bridge. The sky is pale blue and hazy and the sun was to the left and behind the building, so a bit of hazy light is showing at the side of the Shard.
For any Shard lovers, here's a pic for you.
Saw a tiny Super Mario with his mum. They must have had dress up day at nursery. He even had the moustache. Best thing I've seen this year.
A shop window of a shop called Natural Elements which offers massage and other so-called natural therapies. They've misspelled herbal teas and spelled herbal as hebel.
Oops.
I am so happy there are more women professors and doctors doing programmes on telly. I actually pay attention now. I love the series on BBC following the Roman Empire by train (and the one on Ancient Greece).
A close up of a tree trunk where little pale pink flowers and darker pink buds are growing on a tree which so far has no leaves yet. The sky is blue and the tree has sun shining on it.
My week in one post: the NHS did well, a company fitting fire doors left gaps at the bottoms of the doors ๐ฒ, the sacked property agent is lying about being sacked to people calling to check ๐คฌ and we had one sunny, warm day ๐ when I walked home and took photos of blossoms on the trees. The end.
I'll catch it on the iPlayer. I got beetroot in my veg box this week so while #IStandWithUkraine I also want to cook something comforting and tasty.
Happy cheating death day for tomorrow.
I refuse to read articles on Substack. People need to stop pretending it's the only way to get readers.
I'm beginning to think I'm not human because I keep losing at the captcha game.
