My book was published one year ago! Through events in CA, Texas, and Arizona, Iβve met incredible peopleβstudent affairs staff supporting undocumented students, committed allies , and students affected by terrible immigration policies. Itβs been an immense privilege to be in community with you all β€οΈ

This week I presented my book research about undocumented student activists to an awesome group of students, staff, and faculty at Long Beach City College. I appreciated being in that space, especially given that so many undocumented students start their higher ed journeys at community collegeβπ½

And FTR, whether or not you believe he βdeservedβ to get shot (few victims of gun violence βdeserveβ it), these are his words: "I think it's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights.β
Apple Music just took me back to my freshman year of college when it played a track by Big Head Todd and The Monsters; my roommate had that CD and Counting Crows on repeat all that year. #90s

SCOTUS: considering race as one factor in a college applicant's file is blatantly unconstitutional
ALSO SCOTUS: considering race as one factor in targeting whom to detain and deport is cool cool cool
So I guess racial profiling is now both practice AND policy.
YESSSSSSSSSS
This whole national rebranding thing is not greatοΏΌ
Lately Iβve found being online depressing/distressing, but it was pretty great to see a new #HomeCooking come up on my podcast feed.
