More of this! We all know this wonβt pass but this is a line in the sand and a great talking point.

Very good idea.
There should be a press conference every night, bringing Americans the facts about GOP corruption and incompetence, with spokespersons with working-class credibility.
This is really smart by @sanders.senate.gov Go to republican districts and push voters to pressure their republican reps.

What a slap in the face to the workers to make this about Jeffries.

North Carolina: In 2024, 4 schools received more than $10 million in grants from the NIH for a total of $1.3 billion. Of that, $830 million went directly to research and $470 went to facilities and administration. The new rate would bring that to $125 million, a loss of $345 million.
Maryland: In 2024, 4 schools received more than $10 million in grants from the NIH for a total of $1.13 billion. Of that, $699 million went directly to research and $431 went to facilities and administration. The new rate would bring that to $105 million, a loss of $326 million.
In case folks are interested in contacting their congresspeople about the NIH indirect cuts with some estimates of what they would mean for institutions in their state, here are some estimates based on published F&A rates and funding ... let me know if you want a particular state
I don't want to live in a meritocracy. I want to live in the world where you'll be ok even if you don't have an iota of talent in your body.
I just lost my job, along with most of my coworkers, due to the illegal grant freeze.
I worked at an organization that
-helped veterans who have lost a limb
-Assisted elderly and disabled people
-Helped hospitals better treat people who have lost limbs
remember stuff like this when they tell you that diversity means a lowering of standards
Perfect match in terms of hubris though.
That Perrin! What a player!

I think I like this format where the top three in the groups advance to a field of 12. The biggest hurdle right now is the impending weather.

Amazing how these guys shit on diversity hires claiming that it could exclude βthe best possible person for the job,β and yet this is the quality of the people they want in the highest positions.
Fairly substantive, considering the call in topic of the day was βwhat is the best thing?β
Missed this over the festive period.
Cricket Canada cuit ties with Gurmeet Singh's Bombay Sports. Reasonable to surmise this likely means the end of the Canadian Global T20 League.

On-brand decision. Who expected less?
This is really quite silly. The law is good as it stands. Messing with this would backfire and ruin death bowling tactics. If the wide line is fully determined at the start of run-up, the batter could neutralize the wide yorker easily.

This is very, very, good. I agree with it so much that I had to rewrite my recent column on the subject in case people thought I'd plagiarised Jarrod.
Iβm starting a new video series while Iβm at the @SA20_League and Iβd love for you to take a look. First up is Trent Boult from @MICapeTown and I took him by surprise with what I had in store for him. π #ThenvsNow youtu.be/PfOwpAtBW5M?...
Thereβs been attempts, itβs difficult to get funding. Search for Boomer Collins on YT, he was a minor leaguer who tried to crossover. Terrific athlete. Now heβs coaching football.
Agree with this. Thereβs crossover skills, but at the level where the big dollars are, itβs a difficult adjustment that isnβt likely to happen. MLB players are paid so well thereβs not much incentive to cross over in that direction.
