Baz is doing fine in classrooms! I keep having to correct Romeo & Juliet essays that refer to β€˜the fish tank scene’!

A photograph taken on a calm day in the sea. It shows the very tops of a few vaguely recognisably Hove buildings just poking up above the gentle swell of the water.

High tide, Hove.

Seems a very foolish typo to have made on such an important announcement.

I ca see a windmill from my English classroom. As you can see from this image taken from the school website, the surrounding view is devastated by it.

I absolutely loved this, as I loved the movie! It clarified things I kind of felt but didn’t understand - thank you!

Yet another Thursday and Friday will be spent at school re-explaining what the word evidence actually means.

But is it working for you? I have solved my main phone problem by getting a job where it’s hidden all day but need to get to bed/sleep better!

Classic Graun. Hell of a typo to let through though.

That Amazon ad about an overly fond hug from your father in law, just after a Maitliss interview about Epstein on @newsagents.bsky.social was jarring to say the least

I second this - Finisterre have some great wetsuit-fabric-but-swimsuit-shape stuff too and while they’re ££ they’re lovely, and more environmentally friendly that the petrol products most wetsuits are made of..

Also - there are no women on it. You can’t blame a lack of empathy or insight re women on online only when the only ones they come across in English are Lady Macbeth or Mrs Crachitt brave in ribbons.

IMHO it’s the Gove curriculum. It’s like it’s designed to kill the joy of reading. You can get a 15 yr old boy to do mad things with narrative if you talk to them about gaming. I’m trying to work out how to study gaming + narrative to complete an MA. When they realise storytelling is storytelling 🀯

I’m not v interested in it being β€˜home’, but I get a wonderful warmth from remembering that it was ten years ago that I went to St George’s Park to interview the women’s team- and when I posted the piece I got days of angry tweets telling me they were all shit and the game would never amount to much

I got my QTS certificate from the DofE today and am officially a qualified teacher!
Best decision I ever made. I could never have imagined loving a job this much, even if I had also not imagined hearing the term β€œswear down miss” nine billion times a day either.

I think he’s incredibly versatile and didn’t want to be defined by it. I also think as a queer person dealing with all the right wing media about β€˜sending the beloved doctor woke’ must be exhausting.

A highlight of the last seven days was your Brighton event with my son who decided to answer every question you had, shout suggestions about fish fingers and come up on stage - despite having been previously too shy to put his hand up about anything, ever!!
