The way we were
Bright red/pink camellias hanging from a branch. Photo taken March 2026.
Perseverance.
First a nasty ice storm and then warmer than normal tempsβ¦these camellias endure. A lesson to us all to never give up.

Broccoli with Soy Sauce Recipe
500 grams broccoli, cut into florets
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
1 teaspoon sugar or honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
found it for you. I left out sugar, part of it. πͺ
Oh oh, I was wrong. It was for brussels sprouts you cut in half lengthwise. But I think it could work with cut up broccoli as well.
Then you cook it for only a few minutes, long enough to cook the veg. Quick burst of stir fry.
I used to make a recipe from a farmhouse Japanese cookbook. The pages were on tan textured paper, and I hope that didn't affect my liking this dish. π
I think it was something with toasted sesame seeds, ginger, garlic and mirin.
You could use soy sauce for mirin, dry roast seeds.
Really delicious.
