Enjoying the talk of Dr. Ivan Oransky @retractionwatch.com hosted by our friends at CMU @cmu.edu . What you don't see is the great turnout. Great that folks care and are paying attention.

Thirteen first cousins here but basically any country you’d name my dad would say “oh, we have a cousin there!”
Then some of them actually showed up to my Bat Mitzvah! 😮
Anyway, the Mediterranean energy is strong. 💪
The Journal of Open Source Software (@joss-openjournals.bsky.social) is looking for editors. Come join our team!
I've only been an editor for a few months, but I love working with JOSS. Our peer review process is actually collaborative, and we're Diamond Open Access.

I am more or less the right age for that movie but have never stayed awake to the end of it…
I feel like we need to form a League of Relatively Normal People, and our agenda should be things like:
--Canada's cool, leave them be
--Lot of smart people at universities, that's a plus
--We're scared of getting cancer, so let's research it
--Fewer floods and wildfires would be nice

Them: do you have an egg allergy?
Me: wait, you also sell egg?
I heard it from Jerry who heard it from Seth who heard it from you, so it must be true!

Two years ago, we’re in Chicago, along with four cats, in Jerry’s parents’ house (ours plus their three). Midnight hits, and Jerry’s dad announces, without a hint of irony, “New year, new meal!” and fills all their bowls again. One of the funniest moments ever.
Many know that President Carter put solar panels on the White House.
Fewer know that he signed PURPA, the law that kick started solar energy for the entire world.
That legacy alone makes him one of the greats.
I love, love, love JOSS, a Diamond Open Access journal that embraces open peer review, scientific software, and makes publishing painless through integration with Git/GitHub. I'm so proud that RNMC found a home there! 5/6
A thread about being wrong:
5 years ago, we wrote a paper about how how newly enfranchised 16-year-olds vote in Austria. But we were wrong.
This year, @elisabethgraf.bsky.social, @schnizzl.bsky.social, Sylvia Kritzinger and I are setting the record straight: authors.elsevier.com/c/1juT5xRaZk...
