An Anchor Is an Argument Growing up, I despised the metronome, its insistence on orderly time, the lie. Counting the seconds between flash & stampede in my childhood bed-storms full of horses. A woman in the night must be sensitive to sound in case the sound has a motive. Anchor is an argument. A child is the wrong technology for dreaming. I play Comptine d'un autre été whenever I come across a piano. I play with feeling, but I can never remember the ending.

We Contain Landscapes has been out for 3 months. grateful for the readers the book has found already & for readers to come. the publishing industry can give a false sense of urgency—means a lot if you’ve read WCL already & will continue to mean a lot if you read it another season, or years from now
