Don't think of this as a "gaming" story. This is about impact for pretty much any industry with a large international market of conference-goers. And academia. It is, to use a term I believe I first saw in The World Is Flat, a clusterfuck.

I am going to be utterly obnoxious about this for at least a week
polls project lammy and Starmer are going to lose their seats to greens mainly because Labour have taken right wing money and pissed all over us???? unsurprising
deleted a lot of deserved incendiary drafts, but regarding LRT just, jfc, why is it too much to actually listen to or talk to trans people? but, it's all bad faith. facts never matter, people don't matter, always - those who crave power just want to exert it over others
Cis people need to pay attention to the way they communicate this. They freely admit that after all of their research, they came up with zero evidence that HRT was harmful.
Then they banned it anyway, claiming their inability to find a reason is a reason in of itself.
This continual assault on trans rights within the UK stinks of corruption and foreign money, and Wes Streeting is right there in the middle of it. Possibly holding a bulging brown sack with a ยฃ printed on it
The Cass review, used to justify an ideological decision to withhold medical care from trans teenagers, is throughly discredited.
The Health Secretary and NHS England are lying to patients and their families and to the public.
This is severe institutional transphobia.

Great to read another @ashleybardhan.bsky.social horror banger, as usual!
close enough!
friday night objective
Been desperate to check out Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss as I loved VTM Swansong and The Council. So far, this super-detailed, first-person investigating is pulling me in.
I've had a lot of fun checking out Planet of Lana 2, which feels like it leans on its biggest strengths more than the original. At times, it's even got a little bit of that Oddworld energy. And it's just so gorgeous. High praise!
I've been hypnotised by how poor taste all of his social videos have been over the last few months.
Oh yeah, big time. I respect some of the series' lore building, but for me it's always the chuckles when it gets wild that keeps me coming back.
The team has been smashing it with some incredible Resident Evil Requiem coverage so far, which is collected together and updated over time in our On The Radar!
I can't get over how smart it is for Resident Evil Requiem to give you its best gun from the beginning.
We got Scott to review Scott for the definitive Scott verdict. @scottmccrae.com
My era of the mag was just an overload of stupid captions!
Captions like this (from PLAY) were peak games media and you will not change my mind.
In May '25, a beloved Australian games website was sold off. It went dark then, a month later, rose from the dead but stuffed full of gambling links and AI authors.
It wasn't the first time, or the last time, this exact thing had happened. And it's still happening.
My months-long investigation ๐
american mcgee worked on doom and quake, but even more importantly to me, he created ALICE โ๏ธ
EA controlled the IP and strangled it โ๏ธ mcgee went into retirement โ๏ธ but that's all in the past. he confirms to me a spiritual sequel to ALICE: MADNESS RETURNS is coming

The opening hours of Resi Requiem really delivers on sustained horror!
Sorry to hear that, doesn't feel right at all. Still, hope your independent channel has the success you deserve!
Sadly my role as Video Producer on Eurogamer's YouTube channel has been made redundant. After 7 years it's a heart-breaking goodbye, but I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be continuing to create the deepest of dives into videogame lore on my own YouTube channel! ๐

passionfruit weekend as usual
So far, I keep finding new things to love in Resident Evil Requiem! While I wish a couple of more linear sections were a little less time-consuming on replay, it's got so many bits that are simply a blast. Just a lovely horror space to play in across action and terror.
Huge loss for them, hope all goes well in the future.
