in the past, stuff like multiplayer minecraft or something in call with people you know can be a good way to hang out with people

by out of the loop do you mean like the fandom in general? And with the first thing, sorry about that, unfortuneatly online i think alot of people are like willing to chat etc but are slow to initiate conversations, you could maybe try to set up a multiplayer session with people you chatted with
