We just published a short conceptual review together with @angela-taddei.bsky.social on the spatial controls of homology search in both bacteria and eukaryotes. We discuss an emerging framework for homology search in cells with two main phases. Check it out: authors.elsevier.com/c/1mjyh,LqAZ...

Several people from our team are going to the 3R meeting this year (unfortunately, I cannot). I still have very fond memories of one of the previous editions.

A study led by @crougeulle.bsky.social with UniversitΓ© Lyon 1 and @embl.org shows that while humans, macaques and marmosets all inactivate one X chromosome, the regulatory mechanisms have evolved differently.

Just finished reading this pre-print. A really nice computational exploration of RING_E3–E2 pairs, and whether AlphaFold might help to predict which RING E3s go with which E2s and model the structures of the resulting complexes.

Most genetic interaction studies measure gene relationships in one condition, but environment can reshape which genes depend on each other.

Today in Molecular Cell, Luke Gilbert & team deliver the first systematic, multi-condition map of genetic rewiring in human cells.
