It's okay to not enjoy a genre. Most people have genres they aren't into!
But you have to jump a pretty large gulf to get from "I don't like this" to "Other people reading this are ruining literature."

Critical Opinion Pieces: People today aren't reading enough. It's vital that we encourage people to read for pleasure in order to train those mental muscles and develop critical thinking skills.
But not romance or anything in first-person POV. That stuff is trash. And PRESENT tense? Get serious.
Iβm so sorry, dude.

So I don't know what to say about this book. Ten years after Saeldian ditched Kell in Baldur's Gate, they're back together for one last job
Kell will get everything he ever wanted. Saeldian will lose everything they have except the power that keeps them safe--but it's the least they can do for him.
Also while I was fighting despair by sorting laundry and watering plants I want to say Happy International Women's Day to the women and especially the women who are in the closet about that
It's your day! Even if it's a secret
Okay, that was my least-successful attempt at green onion cakes so far going by appearance, but DAMN did they taste decent.
The makers of Inside Out want you to believe that they have zero interest in encouraging conversations about things that might be difficult emotionally.
Kinda thought I was the only person who remembered that this existed, so thank you for confirming it wasn't just a hallucination of my childhood.
Harper to the judge: "Your driver's license doesn't list your height and weight at birth. It doesn't list where you used to live. It identifies who you are now."
If other people's children are fair targets in war, then so are yours.
Nah. I've given up support for people I liked a lot more for far less than what he did. It sucks that he wasn't what we thought he was, but that's on him.
Everyone who loved Firefly and hasn't seen Killjoys should, BTW.
Please repost if any of your followers might be able to connect me with a smallish, non-official dog rescue type group in the Los Angeles area. Los Angeles proper, the actual city. Looking for folks who might be willing to approach a family with neglected dogs and negotiate purchase/rehoming/etc.
I love games and so many of the people who make them. It was an honor to accept the award on behalf of the team and a privilege to be able to speak to what I believe in. β₯οΈ

We said "more low stakes fantasy!" and publishing gave us conflict-free cozies. But what *I* personally meant was, instead of saving THE WORLD from A GREAT EVIL, the character maybe saves their forest or their lil tavern or whatever. The idea that low stakes = no stakes is such a weird development
How to win in November
every single person in multiple cities who heard whistles & went running TOWARD danger with cameras to make sure there was just an unrelenting stream of actual evidence of what ICE was doing???
I can not say thank you enough. Seriously. Thousands of anonymous heroes who changed political reality.
Yep. That was where I stopped reading for a long time, because I could feel the difference, and it hurt.
I have been torn on these buttons, because on one hand, I would love to have Felix be able to talk to us, but on the other hand, Felix has absolutely no trouble getting his messages across right now as it is. This dog can herd you just by standing there looking alert when he decides it's bedtime.
Better Off Ted warned us about our current tech environment in so many ways, but perhaps none more on the nose than

It's impossible to describe the kind of moral violation it is to leave shipwreck victims in the water with no help, even when you're the one that caused the shipwreck. At sea ships help each other and sort out the diplomatic bullshit later because at sea you can only rely on each other.
He's right of course. Employer-linked benefits aren't natural law but a WWII wage-control workaround we never bothered to fix. It's also why Americans are afraid to start businesses or leave bad jobs. We've chained risk-taking to a paycheck.
That's right. You got no leg to stand on, Newsom supporters. Shut your hole. We don't need anti trans anti homeless greaseball shit. North Carolina is purple, it's not some blue stronghold.
NOT JUST THIS:
Two other Democratic lawmakers in North Carolina who sided with the GOP to overturn vetoes of major bills (e.g. anti-trans legislation) are also losing in their primaries so far to progressive challengers.
This could be a major night in NC.
