It seems pretty obvious that the greatest thing humans could ever accomplish isn’t the most advanced technology, but the empathy and compassion to work with and for others at every opportunity. And despite having the most advanced tech in human history, currently we are on track to destroy ourselves
Recently I’ve been haunted by this idea in the Fermi Paradox that intelligent life destroys itself in a Great Filter event before it is able to develop the tech to travel out into the stars to find other intelligent life. Like we eventually blow ourselves up or consume our resources too quickly.
