An Owl Eye butterfly feeding on fruit.
This, I believe is an Owl Eye, prodding away proboscisly at some melon.

The Government’s Mandelson papers out today.
It’s a test for open government. Will they be easily searchable? Will the whole set be available so journalists/researchers can analyse themselves?
Or will it be stitched up like a kipper? Crap search & no downloads?

Both the Ukraine and Iran wars have shown we must move away from traditional fossil fuels, Ukraine already making significant progress to renewable energy. Ethiopia shows it can be done.

Jury trials were invented to ensure impartiality in verdicts because a biased judge could no longer interfere in the outcome.
Now you understand why oligarch-funded politicians want to get rid of them.
Taking the dust of this hashtag #TulipTuesday and starting with Tulip turkestanica, opens up fully in the sunshine.
It was a privilege to be in the chamber earlier to witness this incredibly powerful and effective speech from Charlotte Nichols.
Scrapping jury trials is an affront to the very foundations of our democracy.
From the moment this government was elected, it has come after the civil liberties we all hold dear.
This is yet another outrageous assault on our fundamental freedoms. I will be voting against it.

UK has only two days of gas stored, Iran war threatens supplies.
Maximum capacity is 12 days.
Mainland Europe has reserves of several weeks’ worth of gas.
UK storage capacity shrank after privatisation.
The Rough storage facility closed in in 2017. British Gas wanted subsidies.

Actively joining the US-Iran war is a minority view among the British public - by a long way.

Very disappointing, the government is still completely missing the point! "Ready to Burn" wood and "modern" stoves are the problem in residential areas, not the solution!

The latest European Grassland Butterfly Indicator is out. It shows that grassland butterflies have declined by 47% since 1991, indicating a huge loss of grassland biodiversity. The data come from 16,150 transects & 15,000 volunteers. We are calling for urgent action. www.bc-europe.eu/documents/69...
Absolutely insupportable. Labour have a massive majority. It’s a hugely popular issue. To fail to act would be a dereliction of historic proportions, and utterly inexplicable.
I could try and say something relevant, topical, profound even on the general state of everything. However what I feel I need is a small, purple, Sea Lavender Weevil. So here it is. #Nature
