"HERE WE GO!": the lowdown on "football journalist" Fabrizio Romano
sportingintelligence832.substack.com/p/here-we-go...
Great work, his unquestioned infiltration of the online football discourse badly needed questioning.
Their average position is probably still pretty progressive but this outlier gimmick they're trying to run is absolute garbage
so, no refutation... that's all I needed, thanks
'Play' isn't the word id have used..
I wonder does Arsenal's high average defensive line, which they're very proud of, and low average defensive line faced have anything to do with this? (Yes)(And this is just corners).

For a bunch of lads who were at pains to convince anyone who'd listen they don't give a fuck what anyone thinks about their set-piece reductive grock ball the Arsenal lads are sure taking a keen interest in the current discourse around their set-piece reductive grock ball.

Been clocking a fairly cavalier playlist in my local SV recently. They'd no cling film either. Loose.
Heard it referenced a few times that Mac had a fairly major operation last summer. No training then for 3 months. On top of little rest the last 4 years playing for 2 very intense teams is mitigation enough for me. Hope we don't do anything rash this summer with him.
You're not wrong. It's been a frustration all season. It's what we got Milos in to do. Who knows what they're being told to do, lets see how Rio uses him here.
Loved the way Salah went, alright - if you're going to man handle me every time I get the ball I'll give it right back, to get to the point where he won the pen. More of that @goat
Yeah, he's been a bit odd with it but he's getting so much stick from everywhere lately I don't want to add to it.
There's not great synergy between himself and Cody yet so he rarely gets the chance to get to the by-line and put one in but he's so good at it. Hope they sort their creative differences out soon.
keep forgetting how young he is too - our default setting for new signings has dropped by 2 years and I haven't caught up yet
respect our randomly assigned thresholds - except when we get told any old tat by our linesmen, they're officials that can tell us whatever the fuck they want
ok - just the right amount of midfield stuff (at this point)
The reality of him is giving Hugo a badly needed break and he's as game as a Milos Kerkez as well. Sadly his physical level is showing now against a team that hasn't already run 80+ minutes.
Some interesting stuff though, Mo's popping up everywhere, left wing, right back. Curtis at right back is doing a lot of midfieldy stuff, maybe too much, Brighton are very passive on corners, especially on Virg. And Milos is proving for the 2nd game in a row he's a better footballer than we thought.
FWIW I heard on TAW recently that he'd been through a lot last Summer and that the staff were very proud of how he's come through it.
They're side-stepping that now too on the back of the recent news. I didn't bother reading their workings. If tribalism ever does that to me I hope we get dissolved.
I've taken a mild dislike to them & their gaslighting of anyone who'll listen that they're being a virtuous enterprise.
We average 24s per corner for reference.
Also enjoying Arsenal's weird fetish of saying they play a high line & always face low blocks using average positional data to support it when they take average 44s per corner and have the 2nd most in the league. 153-ish to date so that's 1.25 full games of corners so far this season, just corners.
it's so in the post, the beautiful idiots can't help themselves
Playing around with a think-piece entitled "Would Liverpool be better post 60 minutes if they hadn't been forced to cancel their pre-season training". It appears like it's niche.
Arsenal have the 2nd most corners in the league (by a distance) and take 44 seconds on average to take them, considerably longer than anyone else. Liverpool for example, 24 seconds. I wonder how much that feeds into defensive action height faced.
