While never finished, the lower scenic level has its initial scenery applied. Attention is turning back to train automation and control this summer and I plan to make a start on the scenery on top deck during autumn / winter months
Thanks for the kind words. The purple heather is such a simple things to do. Needs to be done in large patches to have the desired effect and takes a leap of faith to do so. Worth it and recommend approach
The month of May was a quiet modelling month, June doesn't look to be any busier due to work commitments. Here are some recent layout photos from the weekend. #bsmrguk #modelrailway #scotland #westhighlandline
And thanks for your nice comments 👍
aye, that has been annoying me as well. Will get that fixed at some point - Adding to the todo list 📝
No modelling this month, here's a video of the Alcan tanks heading north up my West Highland Line layout

have a look through my previous posts, there's quite a number of on the river bed construction. happy to answer any specifics after that
Thanks Jim
Resin on river has now hardened and I’ve removed the masking tape dam and repainted fascia. I will be adding a ripple effect in a couple of weeks time. #bsmrguk #modelrailway
Been putting this job off but tonight the river resin pour is done. With a multi deck layout, and storage track beneath, this is either going to be a glorious success or disaster! 72 hours it should be rock hard. Fingers crossed ! #bsmrguk #modelrailway
Class 20 heads south late Saturday with short rake of TTA tanks. #bsmrguk #modelrailway
Another day on the scenery. #bsmrguk #modelrailway
holidaymakers always welcome on the West Highland Line
The wiring on the fence has now been installed. My eyes are not what they used to be, that was hard work! May need to weather slightly to take the shine off the wire. #bsmrguk #modelrailway

I agree, I think it’s the muted tones of the livery
The name will be painted in large letters on the shed side or roof
Not sure yet, open to suggestions
After being away last week I’ve made good progress this weekend on my yet to be named distillery. Shed, chimney gates, lots of static grass, heather, bushes and trees planted also! #bsmrguk #modelrailway
Not much modelling this weekend but I did finish the mid level fascia this week and started tiling the distillery shed roof. Hopefully next weekend will be more productive when I get back home. #bsmrguk #modelrailway
scratchbuilt warehouse / shed for incoming and outgoing goods is finally glued together, primed, and had its first coat of white render. Doors, roof tiles, roof vents, and drain pipes are ready waiting to be added.
Will be adding a concrete pad with Das clay later this week.

If you are modelling the West Highland Line, you need fir trees, and lots of them. Given the price of commercial trees, I have to make my own for the quantities that I need.
The trees are made from bailing twine, copper wire, and various scatters. #trees

Thanks Wooly, that means a lot
