Fun things to see while out at sea! The oceanβs color shifts with the skyβblue on clear days, gray under clouds. While water scatters blue light, much of what we see is sky reflected back at us.
This is really fun! Itβs a great way to quiz myself in all the backyard birds that come to my feeder
Oh! Thats one of my bucketlist birds!!
Currently working on my garden for this year!
Whenever the world feels overwhelming, I listen to The World is Awesome and remind myself of all the incredible things weβre fighting to protect and build. #discoveryChannel #boomdeyada

πΆ I love the whole world, itβs such a pretty placeβ¦ boom di yada, boom di yada π΅ Just got back from a backpacking trip, soaking in natureβs beauty. Always inspired by βThe World is Awesomeβ (Discovery Channel) to keep fighting for the world I want to see.
My favorite new thing is bringing a full on mug to cafes now-not a travel mug! In a world that moves fast this feels like a way to slow down. #lowWaste #reusable
Goodness! Theyβre all so good for different reasons!

Annaβs hummingbird in the house!! (Not literally)
We have some visitors to our feeding stations! #birdfeeder
Lifer! Spotted a Marsh Wren at Alviso Park! Took a bit to catch a view as it sifted through the grasses, but I got one! Fun watching the reeds rustle as this tiny bird chirped with its big voice. These wrens are expert nest weavers and craft intricate globular nests in the reeds! #birding #birds
One of my favorite weekend maintenance routines is recycling my CRV cans & bottlesβsmall actions add up! I volunteer to sort & take recycling at work to reduce contamination, lower emissions, & ease the strain on our local sorting system. Proper sorting keeps more materials in circulation!
Sunset walk at Shoreline and spotted two white-tailed kites, here is one of them. #bird #birding #GreatBackyardBirdCount #whiteTailedKite

The cherry blossom tree by my work is experiencing gummosis! Rapid temperature swings from warm to freezing over the past few weeks caused microcracks in its bark, and it's sealing them with sapβevidence of climate stress on trees. #climatechange #trees
WowβI got a curlew (super long break, left) and a whimbrel (right) in the same shot! I was out birding with friends, and weβd just been talking about how tricky it can be to tell them apart unless theyβre side by side. Then, as if on cue, these two gave us the perfect pose! So cool!
Every year, the World Economic Forum at Davos reports on the consensus of risks facing the world.
In the short-term, it's DISINFORMATION.
Long-term, it's CLIMATE CHANGE.
And, guess what, they're linked!
This was a rare occasion where I was able to get 4 different species of birds in one photo!
@ileanabeta.bsky.social Hey, Ileana! Iβm putting together a critter bucket list of creatures to search for, see, and appreciate! Any recommendations for must-see species or natural phenomena?
