His first round match vs Kovacevic has just started!
16 year-old Moise Kouame has qualified for the Montpellier 250! He beat world #159 Elias Ymer and #202 Clement Chidekh in qualifying. Ranked 551, Kouame has chosen to only play pro tournaments so far this year and has a 12-0 record after winning two Futures in January.
Two short sets. 1-1. What's left is essentially a best of 3 match with Novak not having spent much energy at all so far today. I think he'd take this before the match.
This is Novak's best performance since the Olympic final and it's not even close. I thought the days of Sincaraz vs Nole classics were over but I'm delighted we got (at least) one more.
Yeah that's what he's stretching where he's getting his massage at every changeover. 4th starts now and he's playing on...
Some people seem convinced it's cramps and if so he'll probably play on? I think it looks like a tweak of sorts but who knows
Could be. I worry Alcaraz won't continue if he loses this set
Being furious that your limping opponent is allowed to take a medical timeout is a choice.
oh my god this is incredible!! Thank your tagging me in it and thank you @ticktocktennis.bsky.social for building the website!!
It's funny how this is probably the best tennis Zverev has played in over a year and an average-at-best Alcaraz performance but Carlos is still 2-0 up.
Yeah dude for real. I emailed them a couple of weeks ago just checking in if they're done or planning to return but got no response
Excellent! Thanks Lee
Does anyone know of a good resource for tournament entry lists?
Ngl One point slam was fantastic. I watched all of it from start to finish. Riveting stuff.
Fantastic graphics
I really struggle to come to terms with Damian Kust's passing. He was one of the good ones. Very few people can claim to love tennis as much as he did, let alone be as good a person as he was. Rest in piece.
"It hasn't snowed in a couple of days, I can probably bike in this"
*heavy snowfall starts 30 seconds after I step outside the door*
Absolutely devastating man
You ever seen a cuter Christmas tree?
:(
Equally valid!
Prediction: Alcaraz in 3
Both have been sublime this week so the form analysis won't get us far this time.
Argument for JS: he can apply the Fritz playbook that troubled CA and execute even better
Argument for CA: superb returning all week which will give him an edge especially as JS's serving often lets him down vs CA
I see Alexander "they're making the courts slow to favor Sinner and Alcaraz" Zverev is getting handily beaten by a one-legged Jannik on the quickest court in tennis.
I have a lot of sympathy for players complaining about a long season and the number of mandatory events, but the second they start saying "well if I don't play I don't get as big of a bonus" I immediately stop caring.
If you want so see some clean hitting, tune in to Kovacevic vs Shang. Both players very good to watch.
The Alacarz forehand currently reminds me of Del Potro's. It's insane the level of execution he's hitting his forehand with at the moment. Give him half a second and the ball flies right by you even if you're well positioned.
One thing I like about the Asian swing is that as a European you get a lot of morning tennis. Wu vs Korda with my breakfast on a Saturday? Don't mind if I do.
Just the small matter of my wedding before I do any travelling! I'll come hang out with you at the French at some point Mike
Tennis and a vineyard, what more do you need?
