Happy MAR10 Day to all who celebrate!
My drawings from yesterday's Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall...
Yesterday was my first time this year to make it along to the Southbank Portrait Session! Thanks to all the sitters.
Enjoyed drawing Francoise at Connie Lim's studio on Saturday afternoon. Great outfits and poses!
On Monday I went along to The Cartoon Museum Conference, a day of talks based around comics and cartooning. It was a packed day and while listening to what everyone had to say, I made some visual notes in my sketchbook, including portaits of each of the speakers.
On Saturday morning I went along to a really fun Cosplay Life Drawing session drawing Goku and Chi-Chi from Dragonball!
I loved how dynamic and animated the poses were! I switched halfway through from my usual A4 Sketchbook to A3 paper as I was struggling to contain the big poses on the page!
On Friday evening I went along to the first Gosh! Comics/Broken Frontier Drink And Draw of 2026 and was pleasantly surprised to win the first round with my drawing for the prompt 'Oh, you shouldn't have!'
The other two prompts were 'Furry Monster' and 'Mad Scientist in Love'.
The opening for this exhibition that I'm in is tomorrow from 4-9pm at Mori Homemade Cafe, 343 Caledonian Rd, London N1 1DW. After that runs gor a month and the cafe is open daily from 10-6pm
Last Saturday morning I went along to a 3-hour life drawing class at Connie Lim's studio with fantastic poses by Lan in a variety of outfits.
If you can't make it along for the opening evening, the exhibition will continue until the 17th March, and the cafe will be open 10am until 6pm each day.

I'm excited to be taking part in a group exhibition with a bunch of illustration comic artist friends at the super cute cafe Mori Homemade on Caledonian Road.
We'll be celebrating the Lunar New Year Of The Fire Horse with 30 brand new 3 colour risograph prints created for the exhibition.
Recently, my friend Richy had a BIG birthday! I drew him a card to celebrate featuring lots of his favourite characters from comics, film, TV and games plus some of his own characters!
He also sent me a photo of all the birthday cards I've drawn for him over the years that we've known each other.
I've been reading through that since the start of this year. It's probably my favourite recent Marvel comic (and I was shocked to realise it came out in 2015! 11 years ago!!!)
Last night I went along to ESEA Life Drawing's fantastic contortion-themed life drawing session with Priya and Ting providing us with incredible poses to draw! The shapes they were both able to move their bodies into were such a great challenge to try and capture. A really good evening of drawing! ๐
Had a great time at the first Cosplay Life Drawing session of the year drawing Chillibunny as Ahri from League of Legends in a fantastic costume with lots of brilliant poses.
It was certainly challenging trying to capture all the details in the costume, as well as the poses.
On Saturday morning I went along to a 3-hour clothed life drawing session at Connie Lim's studio, with Elsa posing in a variety of outfits.
I hadn't realised this was an ongoing and not a mini series! ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ I'm gonna check if my LCS has copies of the first two issues tomorrow and add it to my pull list!
Had a great time on Saturday morning drawing Federica in a range of different outfits at Connie Lim's 3-hour fashion illustration life drawing class at her studio in Dalaton.
On Thursday afternoon I had the unique opportunity to go along and draw at the final dress rehearsal of Moominvalley In November, a new musical at Upstairs At The Gatehouse in Highgate.
The show is on until the 16 November. You can find more details at @moominmusical.bsky.social
On Saturday evening I went along to an incredible arial life drawing class at London Dance Academy, with incredible poses by Jenny and Ting.
It was a dynamic class with lots of short poses. I can only post 4 here but there are a lot more over on my instagram: www.instagram.com/paulshinndraws
A card I drew for my Dad's birthday
On Saturday morning, I went along to the second session of Cosplay Life Drawing, hosted by my friend Mike, with fantastic dynamic poses by Ren as Ada Wong from Resident Evil. A really fun and challenging session.
My drawings from Sunday's Southbank Portrait Session at the Royal Festival Hall.
On Saturday morning, I went along to a 3-hour life drawing class hosted by Connie Lim in her studio in Dalston, with excellent poses Ben, with various outfit changes during the session.
It's always a fun challenge to capture both the pose and the different clothing within a set amount of time.
Joined the Urban Sketchers on the Southbank on Saturday. As I grabbed something to eat from the food market behind the Royal Festival Hall, I noticed this view looking up towards the Hayward Gaallery - my favourite gallery in London! - and decided to draw it.
Went along to a terrific free life drawing event at the Royal Academy Lecture Theatre on Friday evening, hosted by 2bornot2bcollective, and Inspired by the Kerry James Marshall: The Histories exhibition, with stage dressing and costumes referencing his Souvenir series.
One of the reasons I'm not doing #inktober this year is because I'm spending too much time playing Silksong.
Although that would fit quite well with today's prompt, Weave...
I'm not doing #Inktober this year, but I couldn't resist a quick doodle for today's prompt, Moustache...
