Floored by this story. A man wrote a pollite email to a federal prosecutor objecting to the deportation of an Afghan seeking asylum. DHS responded with an administrative warrant to get the man's info from Google, then visited his home to intimidate him.

The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.
A person who said they witnessed federal agents shoot and kill Alex Jeffrey Pretti submitted a sworn statement in court disputing the federal government’s account of the shooting. “I have read the statement from DHS about what happened and it is wrong,” the person said in the statement.
Very well-considered. Also very scary. It must be unprecedented in history that a imperial superpower of such magnitude threw its power away voluntarily and without much consideration. Dark times ahead.
