Its not counter productive. Some people still dont understand the problem that Brexit is just a symptom of

Ah but the Swedes basically said β€œwe’ll have everything except the euro and defence” and the EU said yes. With GB we’ll have a long list of vested-interest claims that we’ll spend years trying to negotiate, they’ll give us 1 or 2 after 4 years and we’ll claim it as a win.

Theyre Irish. The fact that they also have a second bstionslity is irrelevant.

The highest levels of delusion. And the comeback is that we are attacking him

Absolutely

Thats your big mistake. It is the fundamental that will get you everything else you want.

There is no objective evidence that you are correct

I dont β€˜oppose’ you. I oppose the pointless deadend fantasyland you create.

The way forward is to change the UK by adopting PR. All good things will flow from that.

If you participated in the advisory referendum, then you absolutely did. Thats hiw the unwritten ethereal UK constitution works. You (the British people) provided legal and moral cover for parliament to remove those rights. Absolutely.100%.

My guess is that the point he is trying to make is that some people didnt vote for it.
Not sure why he thinks thats relevant ir imoactful, but hey ….

No minority in Ireland was punished by Brexit

Yes you did. A majority of those that voted carried the day

And why is it galling?

31.12.2025 06:42 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes it was. There was an advisory referendum, then, in line withe UK mantra β€œParliment is sovereign”, the democratic UK parliament took the decision to implement the result of the referendum

If the UK had a real constitution, rather than a bunch of conventions that seem to be made up on the fly, maybe it would say something different. But it doesnt.

They didnt get a vote

30.12.2025 23:02 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

No, cos Brits in England have nothing to do with Scotland

You had your chance in 1922 and fecked it up

They are not

Scots nationalists insisted that all residents of Scotland had a vote in the Indyref.

They don't exclude people. They include everyone relevant.

You don't get to write the rules for Ireland. If you are British then go and write the laws for Britain or campaign to change them. That you have some control over.

You have no input into Irish nationality law. Stop whinging!

30.12.2025 21:50 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Bollocks. All the passport rules predate Brexit. Nothing to do with it. It's about defining the Irish nation in Ireland's case. A point needs to be drawn in the sand and it has been for many many years. It is where it is.

30.12.2025 21:48 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

We haven't got global government yet so individual states will continue to decide their own rules, be that Denmark, Djibouti, Ireland or Indonesia.
That's simply not a legitimate complaint.
Even if different countries rationalised their entitlements, whose to say it wouldn't be more restrictive?
