Helpful life lesson is to take a beat and think about who you are truly interacting with to assess how best to approach the situation. Having in my youth worked retail, food, and phone customer service, I learned effective non-misdirected application of emotion is a huge part of accomplishing goals.

Remember when domain names were all the craze and had insane prices attached under the idea they'd make fortunes for everyone, only to be profitable for the few at the beginning before most people wised up. Yeah, that's AI - the pet rock of the 21st century.

Had a cat named Misty. She had the condition. Gave her a pill once a day. She lived to be 23 years old and was spry and active right up till her final day when she jumped in my arms and passed away peacefully. Good that you caught it in Orson so you can treat it.

My pencil drawing of an armored warlock kneeling on his right knee with a broadsword in his left hand and a metal two-pronged wand in his right hand. A glowing energy orb floats between the prongs of the rune-covered wand.

Hack and blast - can't hurt for a warlock to wield a sharp blade and an energy wand to survive the unending chaos of an unpredictable world.

Starting on spring cleaning - trimming back forest growth before it leafs out and becomes more challenging to remove, figuring out what to donate that's not being used enough to justify the space it takes up, doing taxes (ugh... triple ugh), and then treating myself to ice cream cuz WTHN.

My sketchbook pencil drawing of a sea dragon floating at the surface with a long small-fin-covered neck, giant dorsal multi-fanning fin, rear flippers, front three-clawed flippers, and very long tail ending in two stabilizing fins.

Sketch of a sea dragon waiting for passing schooners to smash with its tail and devour the crew bobbing in the water at its leisure.

It's important to not only look for creative opportunities but also to be open to creating them, not defaulting to thinking someone else is going to initiate or organize them. Some fields are not as large or open to newcomers as one would expect but one can create unique pathways to fuse with them.

Being present... spending some of your time with someone regardless of what you are doing.

Thankful that I enjoy drawing since it makes storyboarding very straightforward and stress-free. Illustrations are sometimes best at conveying scenes while removing the necessity of detailing everything in the script. Definite perk of being director/DP/writer on a production.

Some things are an impressive value. A decade ago got a dozen department store t-shirts for three bucks each. They've held up, haven't faded, and get more comfy with every wash. Amazing.

Let it shine. Never dim your light. You never know who might need the beacon to successfully navigate rough patches during their journey.

Colors added to my black marker drawing of a shirtless human in moss green pants and gloves diving into the ocean to swim with a gray cybernetic dolphin.

My black marker drawing of a vengeful adventurer with short-cropped hair, pointed ears, furrowed brow, glaring reptilian-slit eyes, teeth-gnashing grimace, a multi-layered collar, and necklace with a medallion.

An upset adventurer whose philosophy when processing fallen friends lost to foes is: "Don't be angry. Anger is pointless and self-consuming with often no end. Be rage-filled vengeful instead because vengeance has set parameters for accomplishment and can be cathartically concluded."

Error Correction Code (ECC) memory is a great invention. Definitely useful for editing footage and rendering fx.

All or nothing is so unhelpful in many situations. Same with having to be number one, especially if being 10,321,478th is still an awesome outcome. Useful to step back and see the grander picture when setting expectations.

So often it is good to replace fear of failure with fear of not trying.

Wonder how many people get a house seeing its potential vs. those who want everything move-in ready from the get-go? Also, the quality of new home builds in last 20 years is so sus that unless you have/had an independent inspector during construction it can be horrifying to consider unseen problems.

Reminiscing on Reel Film Day. At university, digital wasn't the norm yet so I had to learn all the techniques for digital and film stock, from shooting to editing (i.e. hand-splicing your footage & taping it together to make your reel). Also had to take still photography to learn developing film.

I remember my mom, who was an elementary school teacher for a while prior to being a systems analyst for decades, teaching me these simple ways to remember grammar and spelling, such as: "i" before "e" except after "c" or as in "ay" like in neighbor and weigh.

Amazing how people need to feel absolute about certain things yet history shows many human-generated declarations (e.g. no pilot can break the sound barrier) routinely fall away when a particularly clever human discovers a new approach or insight about how things really can operate in the universe.

On some films & shows, inadvertently unsettling when camera placed for low-angle shot and depth of field kept too narrow. Upper bodies of subjects are properly focused but below knees in frame are blurred, replacing attempt at cinematic appearance with an uncanny valley view.

Questing for a decent combo of: abundant fast memory for many tracks for a professional feature-length score, a potent GPU for doing photorealistic film FX, and an adept multi-core/multi-thread CPU useful for both activities, without having to go full-room console for either.

This guy's corrupt like all Chinese "leadership". China's billionaire leader Xi is purging top military officials using the Ministry of Defense to shore up his dictatorship. China is essentially a giant slave nation with 1.23 billion slaves subservient to 70 million masters serving 1 dictator.

Nothing quite compares to cross-country road trips across the USA - Grand Tetons abruptly towering out of the plains, starry skies over oh-so-dark Idaho, racing down California coast, Half Dome under moonlight in Yosemite, vast open roads in Nevada, Grand Canyon in Arizona, stunning New Mexico, etc.

Soup is highly underrated as an ingredient. Cook some rice, stir in a large can of Cream of Chicken soup, heat it, and voila - an uncomplicated, satisfying dish.

When my mom turned 18, my great aunt, a Spanish and French teacher, took her to Mexico City in the late 1950's and refused to speak English to her for months to compel her to learn conversational Spanish. In the end, she learned it and used it throughout her life.

I have found repeatedly that getting a city pass in advance for seeing attractions saves an amazing amount of time being able to skip the long queues for tickets in places like Paris and NYC.
