The mistle thrush is not part of the turdus family for no reason. Out resident one is actively minding our big, berried, holly tree.

Birders of #Speirgorm: a mistle thrush in my front garden yesterday perched on my car most daylight hours. It seems to guard our big holly tree (full of berries) which it uses for its winter pantry. Is this a silly interpretation from me? Noticed one last winter, too. @naturenymph.bsky.social
It would appear that it potentially is, if my research is correct.
