In the surge of AI news, understanding DeepSeek's impact on tech, finance, and global relations has been daunting. Key FAQ points: China's unexpected parity with U.S. labs; V3's low training/inference costs affecting Nvidia and markets; and its success despite the chip ban.
Given the whirlwind of troubling news, opinion, and big events going on, my instinct is to stop engaging entirely in social media and the flurry of pop-up notifications. But @jkottke has a much better set of ideas on how to manage that whirlwind:
I will be watching with interest on where both Senators' statements and the nominee's responses focus, particularly in the balance of HHS department, FDA (food vs. drug vs. device), ONC, and CMS to gain some clarity on what the next 4 years might hold.
Excited to see that the primary use cases for #ProjectStargate, with Oracle, OpenAI, Softbank, Microsoft, and NVIDIA are healthcare related -- while this will take a long time, the foundation of AI infrastructure is critical.
The recent #ExecutiveOrder from the Trump administration reversing AI and Healthcare AI restrictions for companies developing medical devices, diagnostics, and software is significant. Stay tuned for more updates on this topic and related executive actions! https://buff.ly/4htRft6
Day 2 recap from #CES2025 - #AI (of course), #innovation awards, home-to-hospital vs hospital-to-home (and #HospitalAtHome), and #womenshealth. More to come!

Here is my Day 1 recap from #CES2025 -- Day 2 to come tomorrow morning! www.linkedin.com/posts/chitti...
I think for most, it's the form factor that's most comfortable while sleeping or wanting to wear a mechanical watch. The #OuraRing (and I presume others) have a weeklong battery life vs a day or so for most non-Garmin smartwatches. Rings do preclude certain sports - weights, golf, tennis, I think.
So, so, so many #SmartRings here at #CES. From the ones most know @ouraring.bsky.social and @sumsung.bsky.social, to lesser known but seemingly on par equivalents like @ultrahuman.bsky.social, to countless "no names" searching for someone to white label or banking on a single differentiating feature
14000 so far today!
Starting off Day 2 at #CES, heading to the #DigitalHealth pavilion at the Venetian portion of the exhibit halls. Looking forward to seeing some more familiar faces, companies, and technologies. More soon!
After only a few hours in the hall, there is definitely overstimulation. I used to think the Epic, Cerner, and Optim booths were big at peak HIMSS, but they would fit in a small corner of the Samsung, Hisense, LG, and Panasonic booths that we saw today.
In addition to the #healthtech at #CES, it was pretty cool being about 20 feet from @steveaoki.bsky.social in the #Panasonic booth.
Great start to the day at #CES - light on #HealthTech at the Las Vegas Convention Center halls, but the North Hall was full of great consumer and home tech. @sumsung.bsky.social had a corner of the city-sized booth dedicated to home care and diabetes chronic care management.
Headed to #CES in a few hours. My 14yo has never been too interested in "normal" health tech conferences, but when I said I might get to try out some next gen #virtualreality and #videogames, his ears definitely perked up!
Any advice for a #CES first timer?
It's probably fitting that my first post on @bsky.app is to quote a thread that is a wonderful bottomless pit of inspiration to get lost in. Like the best days of Twitter (never X). Excited to get started here with a mix of personal passions and professional reflections on #digitalhealth and #HIT.
I love looking at peopleβs personal libraries. Especially the books that people tell me they read over and over throughout their lives.
Itβs like seeing the foundational texts of someoneβs life, values and interests.
