It’s weird to think about that side of TikTok existing because I never see it. It’s also probably not good that I can just ignore the other side as if they don’t exist. Good for my mental health, but bad for discourse and finding common ground.
What’s crazy to me about TikTok is that while I love what the algorithm gives me, I realize that it’s also giving the wackodoodle MAGA conspiracy theorist crowd exactly what they want to see, too, and feeding their madness. I can blissfully act as though that’s not happening, but it is.
The words of Dr King are still true today. Let us celebrate him and everything he has taught us knowing the difficult days ahead. He never sat down and neither can we.
