An honour and a privilege to present my research here in Manchester for the British Society of Soil Science Conference.
In my talk I presented research from the EU AI4SOILHEALTH project focussing on the need for soil assessment Frameworks focussing on soil quality.
Enjoyed it. Thanks for the invite
Aberdeen 3-2 Hearts from a few years ago. Ryan Hedges with a very late winner.
Does Aberdeen not beating Celtic on Saturday come close?
An amazing day for a club I've supported my whole life. @afc.co.uk winners of the π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώπ for the first time since 1990.
A superb accomplishment by the club.
Nature has launched its seventh global survey of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) doctoral students, which will probe graduate studentsβ views about their goals and challenges, and their experiences of their studies so far. Survey runs until June 11. #Academicsky π§ͺ
Delighted to be involved in this recent paper which has just been published in Ecological Solutions and Evidence alongside colleagues from @ox.ac.uk and @uniofaberdeen.bsky.social. #NatureBasedSolutions #Biodiversity #SoilHealth

A young female scientist wearing a lab coat, protective goggles, and blue gloves stands in a laboratory, working with scientific equipment. Beside her is a stylized European Union flag with yellow stars on a blue background. The text reads: "Choose EUROPE. Freedom to explore, research and innovate. Discover how." The EU flag appears again in the bottom right corner.
A group of people discuss ideas in an office setting, highlighting a β¬500 million investment for researchers in Europe from 2025-2027.
β Because it's where global talent is welcomed.
β Because it's where you have the freedom to learn and invent.
β Because we offer a high quality of life.
β Because of our scientific excellence.
To all researchers around the world, our message is clear:
Choose Science, Choose Europe. πͺπΊ
Last week I attended #EGU25 to share my research in a poster session. Link to the abstract: doi.org/10.5194/egus...
It was a great experience to present my research, listen to fascinating talks, and meet familiar names in person

Trying to do my thing @egu.eu. Thanks to those who came to our session on #soil #health #indicators.
More information can be found here β¬οΈ. Colleagues from @ai4soilhealth.bsky.social will be in attendance.
Some highlights from Day 1 @egu.eu. Joined some interesting sessions on #organic #farming #agriculture #fieldwork and much more.
Busy day tomorrow with convening our session on #soil #health #indicators. Come and join us if you like!
I arrived in Vienna ahead of the @egu.eu conference next week. Spending the weekend in π¨πΏ first before I travel to π¦πΉ on Sunday. See you at the event!
An energising week of learning and collaboration for healthier soils in Europe at #SoilHealthNow!
It was brilliant to see the excitement in the room for #opendata, and to contribute to crucial discussions on bridging science and society.
Thank you to @opengeohub.bsky.social for hosting π
Managed to get some opportunity for downtime today and last night also. Nancy has certainly surprised me with some excellent sights. Always good to tick off another corner of π«π·β
Enjoyed my time in Nancyπ«π· at the @shbenchmarks.bsky.social GM.
Witnessed some interesting scientific work ongoing.
Intrigued to keep following these updates over the weeks and months ahead.
Thanks all for making me feel welcome while there in my role as @ai4soilhealth.bsky.social correspondent.

Off on my travels again as I set off to π«π· for the Soil Health Benchmarks meeting representing @ai4soilhealth.bsky.social. Looking forward to seeing how our sister EU project is getting on. And ofc to explore another part of France! @shbenchmarks.bsky.social
An incredible trip to πͺπΉ.
Lots of fantastic memories created and the start of a new research project kicking off. Can't wait to get into the guts of it. #underitilisedplants #soilhealth
Really enjoying my time in πͺπΉ as part of the CROSSROADS -SSA project. Looking at #underutilsed #plants and investigating their potential for improving #soilhealth.
Great day in the field yesterday at some agropastoral plots south of Hawassa.
Great start to day 1 of the CROSSROADS -SSA project meeting here in Hawassa, Ethiopia πͺπΉ.
Looking forward to an educational and life developing week here out in Africa.
It's been a real eye opener so far.

Got my vaccinations for πͺπΉ completed this week.
4 weeks on Saturday, I'll be heading out to Hawassa for our project meeting with @uniofaberdeen.bsky.social colleagues in Biological Sciences.
It'll be the trip of a lifetime and my first ever trip to Africa.
