A fantasy illustration of a female knight sitting on the side of a giant snail. She is contemplative and calm as she rests in the daylight filled clearing of the dense forest around them.

I'm over the moon that I've had "The Void Grenade" accepted to this month's #SciFanSat magazine!👽🐉 Can't wait to read the other pieces in here too... as always, there's a stellar line up of authors!
Thanks, as always to the incredible @scifansat.bsky.social team and @jason-h-abbott.bsky.social.💖
When you are ready, our submissions are open, and our editor does not bite. :-)
Thanks to Editor Jason Abbott @jason-h-abbott.bsky.social and the SciFanSat team for publishing my #flashfiction “Gateway Upgrade”. The cover page is especially fabulous!
Excited to read everyone’s work. Congratulations to all.

Delighted to have my (rather dark) flash fiction story, 'Now Entering Springfield County', appear in this excellent issue! ☺️
So obviously I am being completely objective when I say that you should definitely rush over to scifansat.com for a science fiction fix immediately! 😉
When I got the message that my story The Thrum got selected—I’ve never woken up quicker at 6.30 😂
What a wonderful way to start the day. I am so very excited and happy to have my short under a brilliantly inspiring cover, huddling up around entrances with a bunch of talented writers.
So humbled!🙏🏼🥰
Reality always reserves more conditions than what we expect. That's why "Just Few Ways" led me to an unpredicted 'Entrance' to imagine.
Which is likely why Micro-Fictions are hoping #SciFanSat would publish anything we offer to them.

You're welcome, Lynn!
We can not replicate the problem with the current issue button on the site. It's working properly on our end. If the issue persists, try clearing your mobile cache.
Thank you, Jason, Kim, and Bartleby!
I’m delighted to see my haiku sequence, “Entranced,” nestled in its home in the February issue of SciFanSat.com

The clouds are ominous as the hermit reaches the giant seashell that is his beachside home.
He raps its entrance with his cane. “Lewis! We need to scram! Storm’s a comin’!”
Huge crab limbs emerge from the shell’s bottom.
“This is why I invested in a mobile home!”

SciFanSat: The Monthly Magazine for Science Fiction, Fantasy and More! February’s theme for issue 31 is ENTRANCE and it will be published on Saturday, February 28th, 2026.
We’re hotwiring the stargate, and the February issue of #SciFanSat will make its entrance tomorrow!
An illustration of a father and young daughter, seen from behind. They stand under a ruined archway overgrown with vegetation in daylight that illumes them past the shadow of the structure. Beyond parent and child is another, taller arch; perhaps once a perfect circle high on a great wall or building, it now tops a crooked gap through ruins returning to nature.
“Where are we, Dad?”
My February #SciFanSat cover art for our issue coming out this Saturday with fiction based upon the multiple themes of “Entrance”. I wanted to make something that encompassed both meanings of the word, and ended up focusing on portals, awe, and environmental beauty as a result.
Cheers for SciFanSat author alumni Jan Karlsson!
“INVALID AUDIO INPUT. ACCESS DENIED.”
Her fist falls weary on the door. “Its voice recognition must be fried.”
“Maybe,” her sister says.
“I’ve sung the damn song six times. Once in Tolkien Elvish!”
“But perhaps you need to sing it, in a different key?”

A fantasy illustration of a male sword and sorcery hero entering through an archway in a wall. He is taking his first steps down overgrown stairs into shadowed ruins. Above the portal is the giant carved face of a woman in stone, and distant in the background beyond is a lost city.
