Medicare was no sure thing in its early years. Thanks to Opposition bungling of health care policy in the 1980s, which I describe in this article, we recently celebrated 40 years of universal health insurance.

Good commentary. So many parallels with the long discredited tobacco industry arguments against ad bans; so many good reasons to expose similar gambling industry lobbying; and so shameful that the government has failed to implement the Murphy Committee recommendations on gambling advertising.
