I just looked on X and I didnβt see that Musk post. I think that screenshot is a fake.

A DOGE staffer assigned to the National Endowment for the Humanities to flag grants for "DEI" tries to explain what "DEI" is. This deposition is part of a lawsuit by the @acls1919.bsky.social, @historians.org and @modernlanguage.bsky.social.
Hegseth is standing in the Pentagon cafeteria saying YOU GET A LOBSTER TAIL, YOU GET A LOBSTER TAILβ¦
I believe Hegseth refers to this spending as βthe new, improved DEI,β the Delicious Eating Initiative.
$7 million PER MONTH on lobster tail and $15 million per month on ribeye is a small price to pay for the war fighting precision and brilliance of Hegsethβs Pentagon! Why waste that money on healthcare, medical research, arts funding, SNAP benefits, or education?
Also, itβs the Manhattan Institute which employs Chris Rufo, so Iβd take what they say about Democrats with a grain of salt.
Chris Rufo is on the case, surely.
My first suggestion would be to open a retail cannabis outlet below a therapistβs office and call the building βThe Edible Complex.β
I wonder if thereβs a pot company somewhere in the world big enough to hire an ombudsman. If so, Iβd be happy to fill that roll. My top priority would be to minimize workplace burn out.

Basically, Tucker Carlson made his squinchy face when talking about the Holocaust and they saw some reel by Nick Fuentes and this convinced them that the entire historical profession was lying to them. If only there was some historical precedent for entire nations embracing lies like this.
What stands out to me in that survey is that these Republican men have the confidence to say that historians, whose books none of these dopes have read, have been lying about the Holocaust. What the fuck does that even mean? Itβs like saying you disagree with the grades your neighbors kids got.
Something tells me thereβs a decent chance Trumpβs task force determines that George Soros has something to do with this.
Surely the Presidentβs task force on antisemitism will be looking into this pronto to figure out how this could have happened.
I sure have. They make a cheese with cilantro and jalapeΓ±os thatβs also amazing.

This is a fascinating history of the song Dixie, which was likely stolen from Black musicians in Ohio, then became a minstrel hit in the North in the late 1850s, before it became a Confederate anthem. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/u...
we have entered the era of nation-state level trolling
Elected Republicans like Ogles are useful for Democrats because they're bluntly calling the question as to what sort of country they think the US is. My guess is that >70% of us side with pluralism. So let's have it out Rep. Ogles, which side of the line you've drawn are the American people on?

I would watch a West Wing remake named "Everyone Hates JD."
Update: I posted that right after walking into class and so I asked my students to raise their hands if they knew who Elvis Presley was and every single person raised their hand so....the kids are alright, at least here in Oregon.
This has got me all shook up
We now live in a world in which this is a reasonable headline for the WSJ to write, in part, because back in 2016 no one had the guts to write an accurate headline about a) Trump implying that Clinton should be shot and b) Trump plotting with veteran "ratfucker" Roger Stone to steal the election.
Anyway, one way to push back against authoritarianism and defend democracy is to just tell the fucking truth about the authoritarians who are telling you with their own words and actions what they intend to do. Just print "Donald Trump implied Clinton should be shot by a 2nd Amendment supporter."
I know that most newspaper readers in October 2016 would have found the headline "Trump Plotting to Try to Steal the 2016 Election if Clinton Wins" a bit much...some would have said that was typical "liberal media bias." But, ahem, in hindsight it would have been a 100% true headline.
