Het is een kroniek van de horror. Noodzakelijk om te lezen en te blijven lezen.

Dit is de blinde vlek die niet enkel voor internationale juristen maar ook voor de rest van de wereld onbegrijpelijk en diep problematisch is.
Het is een blinde vlek waar het lijden van het Palestijnse volk in verdwijnt... en waar onwetende populisten als @glbouchez.bsky.social hun gram halen.
Dit zijn oprechte vragen. Ik wil zeker niet argumenteren dat
@vrtnws.be bewust de rechten van het Palestijnse volk beschadigt (er verschijnt ook erg veel scherp, kritisch en zinvol nieuws).
Maar deze problematische framing en juridische gebreken tonen wel aan dat er een bepaalde blinde vlek is...
Hoe kan @vrtnws.be, in het licht van de uitspraak, de situatie als "moeilijk" beschrijven met (dubieuze) verwijzing naar Israëls intentie?
Hoe kan @glbouchez.bsky.social dit geweld rechtvaardigen *en* het begrip genocide zelf zo nonchalant beschadigen?
50.000 levens later - kan het ernstiger?
Dit volgt uit eerdere rechtspraak (o.a. Bosnië v Servië). Mbt Gaza heeft Internationaal Gerechtshof (ICJ) expliciet een urgent risico vastgesteld op genocidair geweld tegen Palestijnse volk en maatregelen opgelegd (die door Israël geschonden worden).
Israël werd door over hele lijn tegengesproken.
... even pijnlijk, helaas, is de duiding van @vrtnws.be.
De intentionele component van genocide is inderdaad essentieel (zie: x.com/Dimitri_VdM/...).
Maar Israëls claim enkel Hamas aan te vallen is daarbij niet materieel. Intentie volgt, in internationaal recht, uit (genocidair) gedragspatroon.
Wat @glbouchez.bsky.social aantoont is erg zinvol.
Het is een eerlijke en duidelijke bekentenis dat hij geen enkel begrip heeft van het concept genocide en de betekenis van die term in internationaal recht.
Dit zijn de figuren die ook Lemkin's erfenis verraden. Erg Pijnlijk.
