Planted 2 of them last year for 1st time β¦ both are coming back, which makes me happy. The colors seem to change a lot through all the seasons but Winter when they go completely dormant and withered brown. A very unique little plant. πΏ π

I like these unexpected surprises around campus - especially those created by the students.
Coral Bell is coming back in the back flower bed!
1st Iris Bloomβ> Light purple Bearded Iris bloomed today!
There are 2 blooms that both bloomed today β> Light purple Bearded Iris.
Andβ¦of course we canβt have Spring without many, many weeds β in this case a lovely yellow dandelion. π I think theyβre beautiful and donβt pull themβ¦the heat eventually kills them. In the meantime, the critters can enjoy them.
Meanwhileβ¦Out Back πΏ β¦ things are happening there too. π§‘ππ
A stone bench, decorated with colorful tiles on its seating area depicting local flowers, including Bluebonnets, under a blue sky. π The lettering reads βTCC NE Prairie Restorationβ. (TCC = Tarrant County College; NE = Northeast campus). The names of the artists are on the bottom right written in black letters. Well done, artists! π§βπ¨ π¨
A Not-So-Ordinary Bench β¦ noticed this walking to my car after Yoga π§ββοΈ class at local community college today. π
Pansies(orange & yellow in ground and purple in blue planter pot), and more daffodil πΌ blooms.
Daffodils by the colorful Mexican pottery bird bath base.
Another daffodil πΌ bloom by yellow/dark purple pansies.

Lily is training for her back-to-outside escapades. πΎ
The way I look at it β> just means more for those who love it! π
I do love how they train usβ¦female kitties seem to be the best at that. πββ¬πΎ
Love & Peace indeed. We are in dire need of both. π
She runs the household, doesnβt she?! Even with 1 paw πΎ not totally at π― , but 99%. π€πΎ
This one was pretty shortβjust under 300 pages and larger print.
Book Cover: Olga, written by Bernard Schlink. In essence, a one-sided love storyβ¦I just couldnβt warm up to. The times, the tone, the aloofness perhaps, kept me from fully enjoying this novel nor completely caring about Olga and the admirable life she was able to gather together in times when strong women werenβt accepted. Canβt really put my fingers on it. π€·ββοΈ
Back Cover: Olga, written by Bernhard Schlink. βOrphaned at a young age, Olga lives in a quaint Prussian village at the turn of the century. Smart and precocious but unloved, she grows up lonely-until she meets Herbert. She finds in him a kindred spirit, spurred by adventure and dreams. Yet their epic romance-staged across decades and continents, from Africa to the Arcticβis ultimately a testament of a woman forced to live below her capacities, beside men who lived above theirs. Seamlessly alternating viewpoints and form, Olga is a wrenching portrayal of a singular woman and her love. And she loves against all odds: passionately, desperately, wisely.β
π Just Finished: Olga π©π©π©
A love storyβ¦of sorts. Definitely a story about the life of a strong woman, Olga, in late 19th to early 21st century Germany. German history, particularly colonialism, sprinkled in throughout.
Whoa.
Yes! Wish the blooms lasted longerβ¦theyβre just gorgeous.
I just caved a few days ago & bought a couple of pairs at the pharmacy and also at Half Price Books, which carries Peepers brand that I really like b/c they hold up to my abuse. π€
Same. But I refuse to get a lanyard for glasses, dammit. π€

Three types of redbuds can be grown in this part of Texas. There are differences in size, water requirements, and heat tolerance β this one looks to be an Eastern Redbud versus a Texas or Mexican Redbud.
Close Up: Miniature clusters of Redbud flowers. These blossoms will last for about 2-3 weeks. Then they will turn into heart-shaped green to bronze leaves. Redbuds are good pollinator plants to bees and the leaves also serve as host plants for butterflies. π¦
Redbud π³β¦ just walked the neighborhood w/my cup of coffee. Our native Redbud trees are in bloom & so pretty β they are harbingers of Spring! πΏ
The African Hosta is loving life again after overwintering in the garage. I love the spots of the leaves in the Spring (they disappear in the Summer). The flower spikes are an extra bonus. Planning to repot today as this pot has no drainage hole and I have to remember to protect it every time it rains, which is a real pain around here in the Spring.
A close up of an African Hosta flower spike, giving the plant its other common name, Little White Soldier.
πͺ΄ The Disappearing Spots Are What Attracted Me β¦ African Hosta aka Little White Soldiers. Repotting is on the agenda today. πͺ davesgarden.com/guides/artic...
Building lifetime memories β¦ theyβll always remember the comfort, joy, safety and fun. And especially the furries β¦ all of them throughout the years. πΎ
And throw your pjs in the dryer for 5 min before you put them onβ¦.spoil yourself!
Oh Iβm so happy! Outside with a furry friend is even better. I hope you feel better for longer and longer stretches. π
Also, Iβve made a decaf hot cup of tea with nondairy creamer an evening ritual latelyβ¦it helps warm me up and calm me down before bedtime.
This is exciting!! ππ€
Sit outside if you can β¦ that always reenergizes me and fills me with good thoughts. I rarely watch news anymore; in fact, I actively avoid it - too much of a beat down & lifeβs too short at my age.
He sounds like he was a truly horrible person. Yes, imagine if only the women had more support and options. What a loss.
You are an angel π on earth. Walter is very orangey handsome. π§‘
We truly stand on the shoulders of so many women.
I just ordered this one β¦ about the mistress who killed herself and murdered her 4 year old daughter by Plathβs cheating husband. It was quite a tangled web.
I do think simple things of all kinds may be coming back β thereβs a yearning for the way things were, as many now are so terribly changed.
