I think that illustration is actually from the 1920's. Definitely pre-WWII from the art style.

Not only did I grow up in Cleveland in the 70's, I knew Murray very well because my mother dated him for many years. His performance was absolutely genuine. He was a major stoner and partier during that time. He was a singular personality.

Ever since the cons began doing juried dealer rooms, it's become people who have the fanciest display and who are buddies with the jury. What they're actually selling doesn't matter. As a result everyone is selling variations of the exact same things.

It should probably be noted somewhere that the storyline was never finished, so people know they're only getting part of a story.

True dat (but to be devil's advocate, I think R&M is on Hulu rather than Disney itself)I can only think it's due to the particular audience age range those movies are for. All the animals are genderless.

You honestly don't think freaking DISNEY is going to have lions wandering around with their nads hanging out, do you??

Eternally attending high school feels like some horrible version of hell.

It's like those gross videos of bears wandering around dragging huge tapeworms out of their ass. Look those up if you ever want to lose your appetite.

Yep. And his name was inspired by a cat the friend we got him from had: Caspurr.

My late Jaspurr. Favorite hobbies--sleeping, eating and purring.

I remember the dead of night
A lonely light that shines
Upon the window
I see it all so clear
The tenderness, the silent tears
Out here in the pouring rain
Through cold dark waiting days
I see you standing there
I see the big wheels turnin'
Never endin', on and on they go
(wrong lyrics, I know!)

More old art--Morrissey's Every Day is Like Sunday. The pier in the background is Redondo Beach pier. I used to go walking and biking there a lot.

During a long period of unemployment I had to do a metric ton of commissions to make ends meet. Here's a very small sampling.

A couple of older cross-over pics I did--the first with David Hopkin's Drip Rat (the people at that Karaoke bar better applaud if they know what's good for them), and then one with @ebonyleopard.bsky.social Extinctioners characters.

Oh boy is that true! I once spent a weekend doing an employment test, only to find out they already knew who they were going to hire, and they were only interviewing people to fulfill government regulations.

It looks like most of the trash is related to alcohol consumption, which is the actual problem. Drunk people don't clean up after themselves.

I read them in my school library, but I don't think they're available there any more!

I don't see why not. I have that CD set, and the Jeff Lynne Idle Race is full of quirky, catchy tunes. Very much a product of it's time, but most music is. There's nothing for him to be embarrassed by.

Yeah, we could also have a thousand Ted Bundys. But I guess that doesn't matter to him, since adult men aren't usually the targets of serial killers.

A music comic me and David Hopkins did a while ago, using some characters from his Jack webcomic. I'm the huge #muse fan, Dave not so much, but he was a good sport about indulging my obsession.
