Quick addendum on this: the one part of the left that truly understood power was ... unions. Union organizers were never under the illusion that they could sweet-talk concessions from bosses with the right framing. They dealt in power.

On Monday night their mob tried to break into the hotel where asylum seekers had to shelter.

Tonight was one of the worst fascist protests we've seen in Aberdeen recently. Completely uncontrolled by police, fascists chased down multiple groups of asylum seekers who were trying to return home. We had to funnel them through our protest area to keep them safe. Which upset the far right.

I actually adore how ardently Labour cling to an incredibly 1980s position on drugs. It's wildly, comically unserious and antiscience, and yet apparently not a single MP of theirs disagrees.

Finally got my 1900-word article about the far right and their 'protectors of women' nonsense down to 1200 words. It's the absolute upper limit for publication so I'm really hoping it'll be accepted, because I'd have to lose an entire thread of argument if not.

I am trying to get this 1900 word article down to 1150 and I've got it to 1341. I think I'm going to need to lose a whole point of argument and I don't know which really important element of sexual violence and the far right to let go.
