One key memory action that this survivor-centred movement works towards is the installation of public art that memorialises the women from across Asia who were harmed by this crime against humanity, and stands against the ongoing horror of conflict related sexual violence.
You may know that I have been campaigning for justice for the survivors of Japanese military sexual slavery for the last decade. This photo was taken some years ago at a Wednesday Demonstration in Seoul where I had the honour of meeting Grandmother Kim Bok-Dong, peace activist and survivor.
Two Korean women, a younger one crouching down to be level (Rebekah) with the older one who is sitting in a chair (Kim Bok-Dong)
