At least you were running. This was just from umpiring a baseball game last night.

The first week back at work in the new year is always long, time for a cocktail! ๐น๐น๐น
Best thing about Sandia's winter shutdown? I took off 2 whole weeks without touching a work device and I only have 145 unread emails (and most of those I suspect are automated junk).
Inspired by the light ride with my kiddo yesterday, I went for a ride myself today; first time in years. I must say, much slower than last time I rode this route. 42 (and some extra lbs) hits harder than I'd like to admit sometimes. The downhill is still fun though ๐
Good start to the year with a leisurely bike ride with my 8. His first ride with any real climb (~300 ft) and dealing with intersections on Tramway safely.
Ezee fiber installing fiber in our network. Fun to watch the equipment tearing up the neighborhood on break. Super excited to finally give the finger to Comcast in the coming weeks.
I'd go rogue and pass. Can't handle that. You need a car with adaptive cruise control, only way to not lose your sanity.
Much more fun packing yesterday than the last few weeks for work trips.
It's definitely fall in my backyard.
Am I on holiday break? Or am I working Monday? What do you think? A boulevardier and catching up on SNL should help me decide.
Yes!
Spent the weekend staffing a BALOO training for Cub Scouts. Beautiful, but chilly, night out in the stars with some nice fall colors.
Flight I was on this week I started a Jupyter notebook from scratch, explored some regularization functions for BCs, plotted them up, and sent them off to my post doc before the flight landed ๐
Kind of work for DOE. We're like the child they're embarrassed of and hogs all of their resources and we're trying to move out of the house.
First I've seen this, and I work for DOE!
Sorry to hear this Steven. Just meeting my dad's new dog today and reminiscing about the history of family dogs. She'll continue to be with you.
Yes! Once you start lip balm, then you NEED it.

Wonderful visit to Colorado School of Mines today to deliver a seminar in MechE about battery modeling research at Sandia and lots of inspiring discussions with faculty and students. Thanks to @drdecaluwe.bsky.social and Aashutosh Mistry for hosting!
In Logan, UT for the Hypersonics Technology & Systems Conference. Beautiful landscape, and really looking forward to catching up with colleagues.
I totally did! We were right smack in the middle.
The eclipse was pretty awesome today.
Another great day chasing balloons!
Yo!
Pretty late to joining this space. Who is here that I know?
Okay, how does this place feel? Let's try it out!
