Pileated Woodpecker on today's walk!!! She was swooping around overhead checking different trees for food. I appreciate that she was calling out periodically so it was easy to spot her. Although she did make me late getting home 😅

The Nuthatch is a plump bird about the size of a Great Tit It's blue-grey on top and whitish below, with chestnut on its sides and under its tail. It has a black stripe on its head, a long black pointed bill and short legs.
Finally a break in the weather today and the birds seemed to be loving it.

For #FogFriday, a Glaucous-winged Gull took a break from flying when the #fog was too thick. Visibility just starting to improve.
🪶 Cackling Geese - as I approached a couple thousand were pausing their migration to bathe, drink and eat. 30 minutes after landing they started flying off in groups of 50-100 to continue their journey. Awe inspiring! #birding #photography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #nature #naturephotography
